Story
Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her "touched." Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn't speak. No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her duty -unprepared for the delights to come.

Perfection!
Reviewed: 09-08-24
This book is severely underrated and an absolute hidden gem. I don’t understand how it isn’t being talked about more! One of the best Scottish Historical Romances ever! Of course, we have our rivaling clans and a marriage to bring the two together. Very rarely do I see books with deafness representation, and Eveline’s condition plays so well in the story to create such sweet and swoony moments. Eveline Armstrong is so lovely and strong, just wanting to find a place to fit in and trying her best in her tough situation, and Graeme Montgomery just wants to protect and give her anything she wants. People, of course, have their opinions on their marriage, which makes it difficult for our couple to be peacefully together, but a HEA is guaranteed. The love between them is so tangible and palpable that I don’t know how anyone could resist this book! Maya Banks is a great writer, but this has to be one of her best works, hands down! You definitely need to pick this book up! Kristen Potter was also amazing! She and this book was a great pair!

I went into this book with high hopes (because obviously it’s Kristen Ashley and she’s a goddess) but somehow this book surpassed even that and easily became one of my favorite books/series of all time. PHENOMINAL and the narrator really brings the story to life! I love Tillie Hooper and I cannot get enough of her and her voice!

Story
Once upon a time, there was a king who passed. He left behind two sons, one beloved and one outcast. The older of the two was set to take the throne, but before he could, he had to find a queen to call his own. The younger one was known to be unruly and unhinged. The chosen queen was warned to keep far away from him. Beautiful and cunning, in the light is where she stayed. But late at night, it was the shadowed lands in which she played. Mistakes were made and secrets forged; forgetting duty and her sense. And while the new king had her hand, her heart belonged to the scarred prince.

Loved the story but narration wasn’t in
Reviewed: 06-15-23
I love Emily McIntire, I loved Hooked and the I loved the male narrator but (this is a personal opinion!) I couldn’t not stand the female narrator. I tried and there were parts where I could tolerate it but some sections she was breathy and whiny and now what (what I thought) the character would actually sound like. But I love the tension of the book! Great though lol

Jack and I, we did everything backward. The day he lured me into his office - which was also the first day we met - he proposed. You'd think a guy who looked like him - a bit cold maybe, but still striking and very unattainable - would only ask the love of his life to marry him, right? You'd think he must be madly in love.

Story
Elisabeth Scrivener is finally settling into her new life with sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn. Now that their demon companion Silas has returned, so has scrutiny from nosy reporters hungry for gossip about the city’s most powerful sorcerer and the librarian who stole his heart. But something strange is afoot at Thorn Manor: the estate’s wards, which are meant to keep their home safe, are acting up and forcibly trapping the Manor's occupants inside. Surely it must be a coincidence that this happened just as Nathaniel and Elisabeth started getting closer to one another.
