Great book for a small group

I read this book and enjoyed it very much. Then I went through it with a small group from church and found it to be so helpful for dispelling a lot of the false beliefs many of us had picked up over the years in church. I'm thankful for the ministry of John Townsend and Henry Cloud. Their books have been very helpful for me in getting past the distorted thinking that has been a big part of my adult life, and unfortunately was not helped by common church misunderstanding about scripture.

Critical

Would you consider the audio edition of 12 'Christian' Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy to be better than the print version?

Personally I bought the audi version duo to financial possibilities. I consider the print version more personal. If I want to look up something from this book, it's harder to find it on the audio file than in the summary of the book.

What was one of the most memorable moments of 12 'Christian' Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy?

For me, the end of the book( the conclusion) was the most memorable part. The author's humble and honesty that they can also be wrong, or make mistakes made them reliable.

What about Jonathan Petersen’s performance did you like?

Accurate, understandable for foreign English speakers, who's mother tongue is not English, but they have advanced skills.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The authors purpose to be non-denominational.

Any additional comments?

As for me as a hungarian who would like to master English, it helped a lot. And as for a Christian it gave true principles in studying the Bible.

Full of revelation knowledge

I loved this book. I have just finished it for the first time and I am now ready to read it again. I got so much from this book as it relates to my healing. I now know I am not crazy and that therapy is required to help others heal. I only wish I could study with these therapist. the insight was amazing. I am praying my whole family gets healed.

Turned me Christian

This is the 6th Cloud/Townsend book I’ve read. This book gave me the push I needed to become a follower of Jesus. It challenged many of the criticisms I’ve heard from atheists and new agers. Christianity doesn’t have to be about restrictions. I recommend this book to atheists and new age thinkers, and those who suffer from Christian trauma.

Christian Myth Busters

Would you listen to 12 'Christian' Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy again? Why?

If you find yourself uneasy with some of the ways the Christian church practices the beliefs of the Bible this book would be good for you. The content of this book really makes you think about some of the beliefs you have grown up believing in the church and whether or not they are built on biblical truth. It causes you to question why you believed that way and gives you some biblical insight at how to break this "Crazy Maker."

What was one of the most memorable moments of 12 'Christian' Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy?

I love the chapter on "the shoulds." So much good stuff in that chapter.

What does Jonathan Petersen bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Actually...I was a little dissappointed that John or Henry was not reading the book but Peterson did a nice job with the reading.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Still trying to digest all the truth of this book. Great listen!! Highly recomend it

As an enthusiastic Evangelical I needed this

very enlightening for taking the Bible study blinders off and get down where the rubber meets the road. very helpful, showing how the Bible really applies to our relationship with our every day walk in the real world we live in and often struggle to understand our own confusing conflicting emotions because of what we've been taught.
