Story
Reminiscences of a Stock Operator is the thinly disguised biography of Jesse Livermore, a remarkable character who first started speculating in New England bucket shops at the turn of the century. Livermore, who was banned from these shady operations because of his winning ways, soon moved to Wall Street where he made and lost his fortune several times over. What makes this book so valuable are the observations that Lefèvre records about investing, speculating, and the nature of the market itself.

Story
Just like Superman, followers of Christ have the supernatural ability to conquer the challenges we face. But the problem for both Superman and us is there's a kryptonite that steals our strength. Of course, both Superman and kryptonite are fictional. But spiritual kryptonite is not. This book offers answers to why so many people - and the churches they attend - are unable to experience the divine strength that was evident among the first-century Christians. In Killing Kryptonite, John Bevere reveals what this kryptonite is and how to break free from its bondage.

Story
Money - investing, personal finance, and business decisions - is typically taught as a math-based field, where data and formulas tell us exactly what to do. But in the real world people don’t make financial decisions on a spreadsheet. They make them at the dinner table, or in a meeting room, where personal history, your own unique view of the world, ego, pride, marketing, and odd incentives are scrambled together. In The Psychology of Money, award-winning author Morgan Housel shares 19 short stories exploring the strange ways people think about money.

Story
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Coexisting but conflicting needs create self-sabotaging behaviors. This is why we resist efforts to change, often until they feel completely futile. But by extracting crucial insight from our most damaging habits, building emotional intelligence by better understanding our brains and bodies, releasing past experiences at a cellular level, and learning to act as our highest potential future selves, we can step out of our own way and into our potential.

Eventually; Reason, Enlightenment Returned.
a good dollop of ethical understanding shared in a real and down to earth way. Jordan who is a clinical psychologist brings and humanely articulates an important message as western society struggles with its many psycho-social problems and virus-like shallow group identity politics and conveniently manipulative political correctness. He is well versed in English and Russian literature and explains the archtypical aspects contained therein and in Western culture. I laughed at many of his personal accounts and almost cried at others.
So many men in western society don't know how to be men anymore and there is a high rate of suicide in this group. He teaches how to be a man, and to be aware of the oedipical parent.

Powerful ideas and stories, backed up by science
Centered around culture, but bounded by the scientific knowledge of psychology and pragmatism, Jordan Peterson's book can be a life changer for most. In my opinion though, the editing could have been much better, some sections are unrelatable and needlessly long. However, if you give this book a good shot, it will easily give you more than your time's value in gold. If you like the book, check out his lectures on psychology too, on YouTube, you will not be disappointed.

Impressive book containing a lifetime of wisdom
Prof Peterson has made an honest, earnest, passionate and intelligent attempt at a treaties on living a worthwhile life. I believe he largely succeeds. He is equally influenced by Christianity and psychological science making the whole thing quite unique in the self help/non fiction arena.
I read him to be very much a centrist. Don't be put off by reviews calling him conservative and you certainly don't need to be anything like a "conservative Christian" to find a treasure trove of interesting and useful information and insights.
Go on, buy it. I think you will be pleased you did.i loved his narration by the way!
