Publisher's summary

When experienced homicide detective Casey Duncan first moved to the secret town of Rockton, she expected a safe haven for people like her, people running from their past misdeeds and past lives. She knew living in Rockton meant living off the grid completely: no cell phones, no Internet, no mail, very little electricity, and no way of getting in or out without the town council's approval. What she didn't expect is that Rockton comes with its own set of secrets and dangers. Now, in A Darkness Absolute, Casey and her fellow Rockton sheriff's deputy Will chase a cabin-fevered resident into the woods, where they are stranded in a blizzard. Taking shelter in a cave, they discover a former resident who's been held captive for over a year. When the bodies of two other women turn up, Casey and her colleagues must find out if it's an outsider behind the killings or if the answer is more complicated than that...before another victim goes missing.

Casey Duncan returns in another heart-racing thriller from number-one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong.

Enjoyable 2nd book in series

I enjoyed traveling to Rockton and working on a case with Casey and Eric. figuring out who done it was interesting . I get the feeling that the author set up some Loose Ends will have to be tied up in a later book. I look forward to the next

Fabulous, exciting, page turning can't-put-down

Loved the story. Loved the remarkably fabulous, crazed characters and can't wait for the next book.

Loved the story but a little too long

I really like this series but it runs a little long. Still hooked though and looking forward to the next.

Ready for More Rockton!

I love this series. I never tire of visiting Rockton and Therese Plummer does a fantastic job narrating and never fails to pull me in. This is one of those that you listen nonstop and then get sad when it's over.

May we have the third, please ASAP?

This is absolutely one of the best series I have had the pleasure to listen to thus far. And a pleasure it was indeed. From giggles, murder, romance, mystery, whacky and unsavory characters, some of whom I would love to meet in person, these characters are cleverly brought to life, thanks to the wonderous talents of author Kelley Anderson and narrator Therese Plummer. There is a third book in this series, however, it is unavailable at this time. I will continually check to see when I can order it from Audible. Thanks to both these talented ladies. The first book, Land Of the Lost introduces us to extraordinary people in the most unusual town, with the second in the series continuing on, and leaving me wanting more NOW! Land Of the Lost and A Darkness Absolute series is a must-listen! I anxiously await the release of the third book in this series. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Just good

The first book was better. I love the story and the town. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the the main character hadn’t made so many dumb mistakes. The book depended a lot of careless mistakes to move the story along.

well written and narrorated

This is the 2nd in the series. With over 60 chapters it is well worth the $/credits. Kelley has always been one of my favorite authors and the way she draws you into these mysteries makes no exception. I came to her as a follower of her urban fantasy books and have worked my way thru all at her books. when your done with this you are not sure who you appeal to more the white or black hats. the twist you do not see coming till it hits you. sit back and enjoy the read or listen because as well as a great story this is a narrorator I will start following.

Great book, only one issue..

The narrator continuously pronouncing "tuque" like "took" was distracting and aggravating... other than that, it's great listen.

Entertaining story but repetitive

This series' overall concept is very intriguing but the demensions of the characters aren't very wide so the interactions felt repetitive by about 50% of the way through.
