About this listen

The new Bishop Files novel by the New York Times best-selling author of The First Prophet and the Bishop/Special Crimes Unit novels.

John Brodie is a Guardian, a member of a secret network devoted to protecting the psychics in his charge from a ruthless - and virtually invisible - enemy.

Tasha Solomon is unaware of the Guardians' existence - until the night the gifted psychic suffers a shocking and violent attack, and Brodie saves her life.

Tough and resilient, Tasha isn't used to depending on anyone. But the assault has left her vulnerable. Tasha doesn't know who wants her dead or why or when he will strike again. Now she is forced to trust that Brodie can guide her through a tangled web of danger and deception toward a safe harbor - one she fears is more elusive with each dark and endless night.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

Great book series. The only downside is waiting for the next book. Soon I hope.

Had potential.

I am a avid Kay Hooper/Bishop reader. I love them! This book was disappointing to me I had to rewind and check download because I felt I missed something. It ended in what I felt was mid book. I understand these are on going stories but this book just dropped off.

New Series Book Two

Where does A Deadly Web rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I listen to a great number of audiobooks and I am a fan of Kay Hooper's novels. This novel is not at the top of my list.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

At least one of the major storylines should have reached a conclusion. The only minor storyline which concluded favorably related to the foster child.

Which character – as performed by Joyce Bean – was your favorite?

Joyce Bean's performance was excellent. The personalities of the individual characters were easy to comprehend and helped to pull the listener into the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Any additional comments?

Since this book was not a standalone novel, it seems that it should have ended with a "to be continued" comment. I hope that there will be a book three and that the storyline will continue.

Didn't care for it!

Dragged, kept waiting for something to happen in the story, but it seemed author is just setting up for her next book....felt like a lot of filler and characters you don't know unless you have read previous book

Somewhat disappointing

I am a fan of this author and try to either read or listen to her novels. This one created too many unpleasant open ends that never were explained or closed. I felt the book ended abruptly. If the goal is to peak my interest for a follow-up, it did not succeed.

Incomplete

I sure hope there is a book three soon, there could have been another 4-5 chapters to help tie up the loose ends.

Seriously??

I have read or listened to every special crimes unit book weather bishop or haven. I am sorry to say this is most definitely the single most disappointing book I've read in the series is a prologue to a new spinoff. I shouldn't have to pay for a prologue to a book nothing happened no battles no nothing.

huh??

Would you try another book from Kay Hooper and/or Joyce Bean?

not so sure

Would you ever listen to anything by Kay Hooper again?

yes

How could the performance have been better?

all the men sounded the same and didn't fit what their age or persona was

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

it was able to grab you with what you thought would evolve

Any additional comments?

Thoroughly disappointed, this was 1/2 a book . Not fair to lead fans on like that. Truly a sneaky ploy to get someone to buy your book.
