About this listen

Can the posh student win the uptight professor?

Helen Swift is almost 50 and tired of her day job as a professor at Oxford University. She prefers to write cozy mysteries under a well-hidden pen name in her Cotswolds cottage. She's also far too busy to even consider romance.

Posh girl, Victoria "Rory" Carlisle, is over the moon when she snags Helen as her DPhil supervisor, and not only because of Professor Swift's academic prowess. Rory takes an instant shine to Helen, who is far from charmed by her advances.

Can Rory make a dent in the wall that Helen has built around herself? And does Helen even have the time for such an inappropriate dalliance?

Loved this age gap between Victoria and Helen, it was quite a gap. Despite the gap the persistent shown by Victoria was very commendable. The meddling also displayed by Helens friends was to say the least was a bit outlandish if not comical. The storyline was well written as usual by Harper Bliss and as usual thoroughly enjoyable to read and downright entertaining. Parts making you want to cry for both women or want too shake some sense into them. But whatever you were feeling it was because the writer had pulled you into the story completely. Great story.

This one was the best of the trilogy, and it can stand by itself. The story flows well, there is humor used by the characters, and the narration was excellent

The best of the trilogy

Helen is a Professor of Literature at Oxford and a supervisor of Doctoral students. She’s also a secret cozy mystery writer. Rory is looking for a supervisor for her research into lesbians in modern literature. From their first meeting there is an attraction. Great performance and story. Fun characters and lots of sexual tension. Recommend.

They say we use about three percent of our brain; perhaps as much as eight or nine percent if you’re Einstein. So with fear fogging her brain, our hot older professor closed herself off to many things in life! And along comes a fresh young thing who blows away some of the fog AND blows away the dust accumulating on her professorial private parts! More fears are set aside as our professor reveals more and more. Our ingenue, the other main character, is wise beyond her years and certain of one thing- she wants the professor and the attraction is palpable! But will she get her? It’s very enjoyable quest! Most of all, I enjoyed that growth arc of our MC as she lets go of her fears and inhibitions!

Fear clouds the brain and closes off the heart! But, what happens when you stop doing that? Romance?!

Can't miss with Harper Bliss (slogan unintended)

Age-gap romance between Professor and student (not her student, but still). Of course, the professor attempts to keep things professional - she's got a lot on her plate - but it's just not that easy. Things start to heat up!

Great narration!!

I really enjoyed this book. The story is easygoing and pleasant but you still get to explore some of the difficulties an age gap teacher/student relationships presents. Both main characters are intriguing and they have good chemistry. The story has a good pace, not too slow not too fast. A nice light read. The narrator has done a pretty good job bringing it all to life

Interesting age gap academia romance!

The 27 or old and the 49 or old, soon to be 50 fall for each other. Not only that makes it a little hard for the older woman to acknowledge her feelings, but she is a professor and the other a life student doing her dissertation. The millennial doesn't have a problem with the age age, she just wants the professor who is also a cozy mystery writer.

Large Age Gap

I normally love Harper's books and loved this one too. Everything was paced fairly well and it was fun to see how everything played out in the end.

A fitting end
