About this listen

In the marriage game, when is it time to throw in the towel?

Margot Simpson was raised to believe that you don’t run for cover the moment it rains. You don’t slide divorce papers across the kitchen island, especially when you have a teenage son. You roll up your sleeves, toss your hair in a bun, and dance in the downpour.

When Margot abandoned her singing career on Broadway to follow the man of her dreams to Burlington, Vermont, she never looked back. She embraced her new role as a wife, mother, and homemaker with an artist’s passion.

For years, her husband was a dedicated partner and father, but his political aspirations are getting in the way of his family’s happiness. With his eyes focused on a Senate seat, he’s forgotten the people that matter most.

Lucky for him, the words “give up” aren’t in Margot’s vocabulary. She's convinced that if she loves her husband hard enough, he’ll awaken from the daydream he’s trapped in. But as Margot does everything she can to be the perfect wife, she realizes it's her own awakening - and even sanity - that are at stake.

A Marriage Well Done, the prequel to The Red Mountain Chronicles, is a quirky, off-the-wall tale of one woman’s dysfunction while carrying out an unorthodox plan to get her husband back.

Uplifting and encouraging read

Loved reading this story. Lots of twist and turns and not knowing the outcome until the end. Love to read stories that keep you guessing what the characters will do from one chapter to the next.

Overcoming Betrayal

I wish I had read this first before reading the Red Mountain series, but still enjoyed as much as the others. The male author does an amazing job with writing from a female's perspective.
Margot tells the story of her numerous efforts to try and save her marriage, then her husband's betrayal and the emotional roller-coaster she

Not For Me!!!!!

This book has too much details about the wife’s sexual ramblings and could only be of interest to someone who has passive aggressive games in
mind. I only got through one and a half chapters so I have no idea about the rest of the book. I wish the main character good luck.

It took all I had to listen to that voice!

I enjoyed Red Mountain and when I read that Margot was a character in this book, I couldn’t wait to listen to it. However, I couldn’t tolerate the way the reader sounded. She sounds like shes reading lines for her first audition to a stage performance. Not the right sound for the Margot you come to love in Red Mountain. I may feel differently if I had read this before Red Mountain.

not for me

this reminded me of a bad romance novel which I would never read. The characters stunk as did the narrator.

Awful

This story is so unbelievable it’s awful. The only redeeming value is the performer can actually sing when the storyline calls for it. I have listened to Boo Walkers books before and have enjoyed them.. I was looking forward to a series set on the west coast, but doubt I will pick up the other books as this character was so poorly written.
