About this listen

It's a busy summer in Booktown. Contractor Jim Stark is in great demand: he's overseeing a number of projects, including Angelica Miles's newly constructed building on Main Street, finishing up the new brew pub, and gutting a stone mansion off Main Street that Angelica bought to be the world headquarters for Nigela Ricita Asssociates. It'll house office space where her marketing staff and the rest of the NR Associates clerical personnel will work.

Tricia Miles and Angelica arrive at the mansion before their workday to see how the construction is going. They find the place unlocked and Stark's right-hand man, Sanjay Arya, dead-bludgeoned to death. The loss of the contractor's top man threatens all the projects in the works, which would effectively ruin the expensive marketing plan that the Chamber of Commerce has been working. Is Jim a suspect? (He'd be stupid to kill the person he depends on to keep the projects going.) But Stark also thinks his wife, who was very chummy with Sanjay, might have been cheating on him with the second-in-command, making him a likely suspect.

Once again Tricia finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation, but can she find the killer before he or she has the chance to bring the hammer down?

Could not figure the killer out until the end.

Hope the next books helps Tricia separate some from her over protective sister. And finds happiness.

Love the Booktown series

Can’t wait for the next book. Narrator is also wonderful. Concerned Booktown might be running low on victims though.

Not her best storyline

This was the hardest book to get through, so much so I almost returned it. Trisha was very whiny the entire book.

Not great

Boring storyline, The story seemed to drag on and didn’t pull me in like others in the series. It didn’t feel like a Lorna Barrett book.

Narration

David sounds like a 12 year old boy he’s a graduate student for gosh sakes. Make him sound like a strong male even though he is young . Angelica does not sound like the strong businesswoman she was in the earlier books by Karen White you can’t you have to hear that it’s Tricia or Angelica talking till they say Tricia said. All she does is smoke around and we hear the two martini glasses eating in the dining room what time give her a life outside her sister for heaven sake‘s. Very disappointing.

A Questionable Character

This is not my favorite book by Ms. Barrett. The storyline was kind of all over the place & Tricia seemed over emotional for much of the time over an intern her sister hired to help at the Chamber of Commerce. Of course there was the usual murder but Angelica found the body this time though Tricia was with her. The murderer wasn’t difficult to figure out even with all the other suspects vying for the position. The narration was very good by Ms. Campbell!

Almost lost me

Story line took too long. I almost gave up on it as David’s character really annoyed me. Also the relationship between Tricia and Angelica was way too off balance. Hopefully the next book will be better.

Disappointed

I love this series, but this book didn't deliver what the rest in the series did. Boring storyline. Characters were a little off. Great Author and great series...just not the best book.

Where did Tricia go?

Too soft, too manipulated; nothing of our original strong character! Even narrator presents as sappy and weak. Terribly disappointing for a beloved series.

Questionable Character is an entertaining cozy mystery with engaging characters and a well-written plot. I look forward to the next book.
