Publisher's summary

In A Stranger in Town, the next riveting thriller from number one New York Times best-selling author Kelley Armstrong, the paranoia increases - along with the stakes - as the town of Rockton tries to solve the latest mystery at their door.

Detective Casey Duncan has noticed fewer and fewer residents coming in to the hidden town of Rockton, and no extensions being granted. Her boyfriend, Sheriff Eric Dalton, presumes it’s the natural flux of things, but Casey’s not so sure. It seems like something bigger is happening in the small town they call home.

When an injured hiker stumbles from the woods, someone who seems to have come to the Yukon for a wilderness vacation but instead is now fighting for her life, it’s all hands on deck. What - or who - attacked this woman, and why?

With the woman unconscious, and no leads, Casey and Eric don’t know where the threat is coming from. Plus, the residents of their deeply secretive town are uneasy with this stranger in their midst. Everyone in Rockton wants this mystery solved - and fast.

We get a few answers this time around

Many of you know I'm mainly read Indie authors these days. But there are still a few mainstream ones that I purchase without a second thought and without reading any of the synopses. Well Kelly Armstrong is one of them.

There are also books I prefer the audio to the actual because the narrator does such an amount job bring the book to life for me.

The Casey Duncan Series is that 100% Kelly's writing never dispoints and Therese narrating never let's me down.

In Rockton nothing is as it seems, and no one is who they seem. Besides the murder there is also underlying mysteries going on.  In this installment we get many answers to the ongoing questions that have plagued us and teased us throughout the series.

I give both the story and narrating 5 stars  and will wait in anticipation for the next mystery of Rockton.

Pronunciation Issues

I really do love Thérèse's performance on all books in this series, however the constant mispronunciation of Newfoundland (she pronounces it "New Finland") makes me cringe. Also, her pronunciation of the word Français as "Francois" was a little disconcerting, especially given her name. Picky, I know, but she is supposed to be a professional.

I absolutely love this story!!!

I can't wait to listen to the next book. I am also sad because I know it will have to end at some point. I am so addicted to Casey and Eric's life in these novels.

This Series Never Disappoints!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again--this series is one of my absolute favorites. The characters are always compelling, the setting is absolutely gorgeous, the mysteries somehow manage to stay fresh, and Armstrong finds a great balance between the new mystery and the series-long mysteries.

My only complaint is that it isn't longer. I've already got the next book on pre-order.

And, as always, I can't say enough about Therese Plummer. She's an absolutely stellar narrator, and she handles a wide range of voices skillfully.

love this whole series as much as otherworldl

I just love her writing style and this book does not disappoint. Great twists and turns with the loveable characters we have grown with over the series. Added characters help with background and development of the story. About to start the next book bc I can't wait till later, I can just listen while I work lol.
