Loved It!! Religious Undertones Are Welcomed . Clean Read!!

The suspense kept me engaged. Good clean book. There’s a message regardless of your opinion about religion. And you don’t have to put up with profanity in every sentence.

Lovely

Wrap up of this amazing series. Suspense, love and God’s grace all play a part as this family saga wraps up.

Wish the same reader had been used throughout

Did Barbara McCulloh do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I don't think she was nearly as good as the reader of the first two books. And it stunted the story to change it 2/3 of the way through the series. I'd become used to the "voices" of the various characters and then it all changed.

This this trilogy

This is a good read and I recommend the trilogy to anyone who’s interested in Christian romance with a little bit of drama. The narrator was wonderful, she’s become one of my favorites.

Love the story!

The story line was wonderful but I was really disappointed that the narrator changed from the previous 2 books. I've heard Barbara McCulloh reading other books & she's done a good job but I had a hard time distinguishing between the characters this time. But I still recommend this book.

Captivating but infuriating story

I love this author and have most of her books. However this trilogy is my least favorite of all. Mild Spoilers alert. She does a fantastic job of getting you curious of what’s to come, but some of the characters made me want to throw the book into the fictional river we find in her story! I actually recommend the publisher include information on helpful resources for those who might actually be in similar sounding situations, because partner abuse is a very real thing. Victims often act in a similar manner where they feel they have no choice. The main character has a sense of hero syndrome where, in her naïveté, she acts selflessly in an attempt to save others. I was so frustrated but the situation I almost didn’t get thru this book. Thankfully the author didn’t allow things to enter into more graphic imagery point. Ms Peterson is truly gifted. If the intent is to make the reader feel strong emotions during the course of the reading, bravo! Mission accomplished. However, these are not the emotions I long for. As she said in the book, fear is not the best way to feel alive. I am so grateful she didn’t go too far down the rabbit hole of returning Sophie to her blatantly selfish and childish ways. It was almost too much to hear last in the last book. Amanda and Fanny are lovely characters. I am grateful that the importance of prayer and leaning on God’s promises is included in these books. The Christian characters in the author’s stories that turn to God for comfort and guidance reflect how many in this world have learned is truly the only way to living. It reflects a true perspective and approach that is hard to find in non-fiction books. I’m grateful for this and hope she continues sharing her faith through her inventive creations. If she could promise to give us less whiny, childish heroines, that would give me great joy. I look forward to Tracie Peterson’s stories as an opportunity to unwind after a long day of work and real-life problems. I now also feel the need to revisit upstate New York. Haha. If you’re ok with some drama and holding on tight for a wild ride as evil doers just keep “winning”, step right up and give this story a try.

Religious Undertones

There are religious undertones to this book that I wasn't expecting. I did take into account the time period and understand that nearly everyone during that time period would have been religious, or at least brought up to believe in the church. However, it wasn't what I expected and took me away from the story from time to time. It started out a bit slow, but the dilemma of the situation did keep me listening.

Boring Awful Read

Don't bother reading this book, the characters are boring and the storyline is dreadful. The narrator also uses the same voice for almost all of her characters and slips in and out of character.

Best of the series.

This book was probably the best from the series. It added a bit more mystery and intrigue.
