Publisher's summary

From award-winning, best-selling author Gary Ponzo, comes another Nick Bracco thriller!

In this high-octane thriller, Nick Bracco, FBI's top anti-terrorist agent, is drawn into the hostile environment of the Arizona-Mexico border. A member of his task force is ambushed by Mexican assassin, Antonio Garza, known as "The Butcher," while trying to prevent the cartel staffer from transporting a dirty bomb into the US. As the agent is on the verge of slaughter, he calls Bracco with one last plea: kill him.

Unable to trust US law enforcement, Bracco turns to the mafia. Garza, however, uses his cartel money to reach over the border and secure a network of US law enforcement to be on his payroll. Bracco is forced to track him down with just a couple of agents he can trust, plus his cousin Tommy.

Tommy is a shrewd character with extensive mafia contacts who offer their underground assistance as Bracco spearheads the deadly game of Sicilians versus the cartels.

Can Nick Bracco track down Garza before the assassin finds him first?

Monotone Narrator

I loved the first two books in the series and was thrilled to see #3 & #4. The book was shaping up to be a great listen to except for one thing. I just could not listen to this narrator past the first few chapters.... and I really tried. His monotone delivery just kept putting me to sleep. You can barely distinguish women from men, let alone MULTIPLE women and men. Just read it. That's what I plan to do.

Finally on audio!

I bought the Nick Bracco Omnibus a couple years ago and loved it. I’ve been waiting and checking periodically for the rest of the series and was very happy to see this book finally on Audible. Although the story is equally as good as the first two books I must say that I missed the narration by RC Bray. Sean Kilday does a very good job but Bray’s shoes are hard to fill.
This is the third book in the series. Each can be listened to as a stand alone however I would suggest listening to the series in order. Bracco is a super hero hunter of terrorists and this book follows suit. This book is fast paced with plenty of action and a few twists (slightly predictable) towards the end. Looking forward to the next.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Narration was not up to par

I’ve listened to the first two books in the series and the first two were very well done. Then I get to this book and the narration was painful and it was hard to stay focused on it. I hope the fourth book was narrated by the same guy as the first two.

Horrible narration ruined the story

I tried to ignore the terrible narration and focus on the story but just couldn't do it! It sounds like a poor narration of a PBS children's story rather than any kind of police or crime novel. And no noticeable distinction between characters- they all sound like goody- goody little boys. I had to return the book, and was very disappointed to do so!

Could not finish it.

I listened to the first two books and RC Bray brought them to life. I didn't even look at the name of the narrator before I bought it and downloaded it. Shame on me. I assumed that the fabulous story would continue with the fabulous narrator RC Bray. When I heard the voice I was disappointed. I decided to try it anyway. NOPE! I couldn't do it. That won't happen again. Too bad I lost money on this.

terrible narration

Monotone reading. No character voices. Breath and page turning heard on recording. This might be a fantastic novel but lets get RC to record the rest of the series.

good story monotonous narrator

after hearing rc bray perform the first 2 books I was so let down by a non performance simple monotonous reading of this story. I get it there are not so many rc brays but the difference was staggering.

bad audio

The audio quality is so bad I couldn't handle it. The narrator was fine but I had to give up a half hour in.

OMG THE NARRARATOR

I don't like to leave reviews esp. negative ones. But this was the hardest book to sit through! I fell in love with Nick and Tony during the first book. The second yes still there. This one, I really wanted to return it. The original reader did such a great job with the voices that I just lost interest. I found myself repeating the lines in the correct voices. Sadly disappointing I honestly do not remember the story. I really don't want to get the last book for fear that it will be voiced as bad as this one.
