I enjoyed the authors ability to flesh out the characters and bring their truths to light. Vaginal mutilation seems to be swept under the rug. Though life can be unfair, it's how we learn from the lessons that make a difference. I so wanted Satin to be able to go to America with her husband and daughter. There aren't always happy endings. I cried more than I anticipated.

Lifes painful moments

This book shook me to my core. I am amazed at the author’s ability to describe a love that goes beyond death. This is the type of love and devotion that most women dream of having for themselves and their daughters.

Wow!!

I started this bok last year and it didn't capture my attention. (I was mostly into crime and thrillers back then). I decided to listen to some titles I hadn't touched in my library and I'm glad I did. It started off slow and (FOR ME), it seem drug out, but as I read on I the plot began to unfold, and let's just say I teared up a few times, I do wish that she would have at least expressed to her father how she felt about the ordeal concerning her... How blind parents can be trying too be right. A great read. I give it a 4 books rating📘📘📘📘

Will keep you wanting more after the book has ended
