Hearing the story in chapter 2 of the lady afraid of rejection and judgmental looks at work, missing meetings, and being worried about being disconnected from her community and things she loved to do, was a real eye-opener and made me realize just how life-consuming these traits are. It’s difficult to live the life you love when you have these straying thoughts and compulsive habits. They can also result in burnout. I picked all of this up and so much more just in the first few chapters. But it’s not all doom and gloom. The truth is, we can reprogram our minds to act in ways we more prefer. Also, a sidenote that helped me with similar symptoms was getting into QIgong! (Its all connected!) Thank you Spreadlife publishing for this thorough understanding.

As someone with professional experience in mental health and personal experience using CBT for myself and supporting my daughter’s anxiety, I found this audiobook incredibly valuable. It offers clear, practical techniques that feel doable and sustainable, not overwhelming. I appreciated how it breaks down emotional regulation, routines, and focus strategies into small steps. This really is a resource you can integrate into daily life, whether you’re navigating ADHD, anxiety, or just wanting to build healthier habits. Highly recommend.

I picked up this book out of curiosity, wanting to better understand the experiences of friends and loved ones who live with ADHD. What I didn’t expect was how much this book would offer me, even as someone who doesn’t have ADHD. While it’s written specifically for neurodivergent minds, many of the techniques around emotional regulation, breaking down overwhelming tasks, managing anxiety, and improving communication are incredibly helpful for literally anyone. I feel like I have a better understanding of what my loved ones with ADHD experience daily, and I'm so grateful for the tools that this book has offered to me.

This book felt like it was written for me, not about me — and that made all the difference. Managing ADHD and anxiety as an adult often feels like juggling with one hand tied behind your back. But this 7-week CBT guide made things feel lighter, clearer, and actually doable.
Each week introduced bite-sized tools I could try right away — no pressure to be perfect, just progress. From learning how to redirect spiraling thoughts to figuring out how to actually finish tasks, I started noticing small wins early on.
What really stuck with me was the message that I’m not broken — my brain just works differently. And with the right strategies, that difference can become a strength.

I was recently diagnosed with ADHD at 51, and this audiobook has honestly been a lifeline. For years I thought I was just disorganized, forgetful, lazy—whatever label I or others threw on me. I had no idea that ADHD and anxiety were behind so much of the frustration I’ve carried around for decades. This book helped me feel seen and understood in a way nothing else has.

The 7-week structure is perfect for someone like me who gets overwhelmed easily. It doesn’t feel like another thing I have to keep up with. I can just press play, take in a few tools at a time, and actually use them without feeling like I’m failing if I miss a day.

What I appreciated most is that it's not just about getting more done—it’s about learning how to work with your brain instead of fighting against it. The sections on emotional regulation, routines that finally make sense, and even how ADHD impacts relationships were especially helpful. I’ve already started using a few of the techniques, and I’m seeing real change—not perfection, but progress I can feel.

If you’ve been diagnosed later in life like I was and are trying to make sense of it all, I can’t recommend this enough. It’s practical, encouraging, and incredibly validating. I only wish I had it sooner.

Living with ADHD and anxiety can feel like a nonstop mental rollercoaster, but this audiobook actually helped me slow things down. The weekly structure made it manageable, and the techniques were practical—not just random advice. I started using a few of them right away and noticed I could focus better without feeling overwhelmed. The narrator’s tone was calm and encouraging, which made a big difference for me. If your brain feels all over the place like mine, this really helps you feel more in control without adding pressure.
