About this listen

Victoria Blythe wanted adventure. She wanted to explore the world and escape from the strict etiquette of British nobility. With her father fighting in India, the governess assigned to raise her controlled every aspect of her life.

The financial downturn of a friend of the family would lead to her sister's longtime engagement turning into an immediate marriage.

Victoria's thirst for adventure and tomboy ways would not prepare her for the sudden advent of the apocalypse.

Can Victoria and her friends survive this new world of classes and skills?

Join Victoria and her family on a LitRPG adventure, unlike any other!

Jane Austin meets LitRPG.

Definitely worth a listen if you are into the genre. A perfect narrator for the story.

Enjoyable

The story was enjoyable. I would love to read a sequel. I always enjoy a good story that isn't full of needless swearing and sex. This is a book that I listened to with my daughters.

rough beginning, just push through. story is great

What amazed me the most is how absolutely different this books characters are from the authors previous books. Different setting, mannerisms, genders, trains of thought, everything. So A+ for that. Its actually a really great story and def worth a credit. Its a victorian era minor nobility house suddenly has to deal with monsters and stats for the gist of it. Pretty interesting take on it. Also the characters are all dynamic, their personalities change over time.

Here is my one word of warning though. You have to get through the beginning of the book. If you are annoyed by propriety and outdated customs, just buckle down. I hate that stuff, but as soon as the world shifts the book gets really good. Give it a listen.

The book didnt leave a cliff hanger but it left it open for more. So I hope there is a book 2. We'll have to see.

wuthering heights meets litrpg D&D.

it's a fun book , it starts a little slow, but once the world changes, it has the characters freak out as anyone would. I'm looking forward to the next book.

Definitely a different take on the LitRPG genre.

I've listened through this a number of times. Admittedly the over the top stilted dialog of the characters initially is a bit off putting.... though that is a staple of the Victorian writing style that this is a riff on, it fits in perfectly.

I keep checking back to see if a sequel has been added, it sets up perfectly for a book 2.

Slow start, but ended up great!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. I particularly liked the concept of Victorian Steampunk England suddenly becoming a part of an MMO and people adapting to it with no prior experience. Like his other book, I really enjoyed this author's fresh take on this genre!

read the kindle free

conflicted good premise and I like the main character weapon, but haven't finished this yet will be difficult, main character is a lot stupid when it comes to the fights first book where I actually prefer to skip the fight scenes. she is a idiot and I hope by the end she gets a little better. hard to listen to, maybe a sequel with her using some points to increase her intelligence. oh uea this is a litrpg

A great twist on LitRPG

A nice change from the traditional LitRPG. Great character development and sets a good base for a continuing story. The noble culture makes me glad I was born in the time period though.

Good BUT

I love the concept and even the story. But the beginning is just a bit slow. Talks about a description being talking down in this litrpg and then does the same narratively to the reader at the beginning.
