Sound effects

I find sound effects quite distracting. Good story doesn't need enhancements. Overall a good book.

I enjoy Michael Bennett stories

This was an interesting installment to the series. I enjoy the main character's self-deprecating manner and this story focused on the crime, not his personal life. Can't wait for next book.

Another great Patterson book

I love almost all books by James Patterson.-the Michael Bennett series is especially enjoyable to me. I love the chaos of the Bennett household with the 10 kids & the grandfather who is an Irish Catholic priest.
The story in this book was quite exciting and intriguing as New York City is attacked & the police are stumped as to who is responsible.
I did not anticipate who the culprits were, making the investigation more exciting.
The narration was amazing as I could easily tell when a different character was speaking
Highly recommend

Depressing and boring

Didn't like this. Destroying NY is very depressing. Story was boring. Couldn't wait for the ending. Not enough family story.

Not his best

I have loved Patterson and the Bennett series since it came out. I found this to be drawn out and lacking in the substance the rest of the series had. I hope that if the story line can't be better that he end the series

UGH! Sound effects.

Any additional comments?

As an avid listener and reader I can EASILY imagine the background sounds and do NOT appreciate the manufactured noise. Please, just read the book!

It kept me wondering.

Would you listen to Alert again? Why?

No. Only because I've never listened to a book more than once. I'd rather read or listen to something new.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Alert?

Michael and Mary Katherine's time to themselves in Ireland. Much needed.

What three words best describe Danny Mastrogiorgio and Henry Leyva ’s performance?

It was okayI could do without the sound effects. I'm listening to a book, not watching a movie.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. The very end. I don't want to spoil it for potential future listeners - so - no details.

Any additional comments?

From the beginning, I wondered how they were going to solve this potential mass destruction. But leave it to Michael Bennett to pull it off once again. I love a GOOD book. I can't wait for the next one to come out. Thank you, James Patterson, for another good read - or listen as in this case.

Worst reader

Would rate the main reader zero stars if I could! Declarative sentences turned into questions??? Annoying to say the very least.
