About this listen

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author S.L. Scott brings the charm and romance, smiles and laughs to Along Came Charlie. This friends-to-more novel is packed with heartfelt emotion reminiscent of the best of chick lit of the past with a modern twist for today’s audiences.

I’ll be your date, and you’ll be mine. Who says a funeral can’t be romantic?

Okay, everyone. Including myself.

That doesn’t stop the rumor mill from turning when I show up with a beautiful redhead on my arm.

That redhead also just happens to be a stranger, relatively speaking. Charlotte Barrow and I have run into each other a few times—on the subway, at a bar, and now on our way to separate funerals. Instead of the prodigal son who let his parents down showing up alone, I traded favors and brought a date. The deal made sense at the time. You be my date, and I’ll be yours. Who knew bringing a date to your ex-fiancé’s funeral would cause such a stir?

Technically, I did.

I invited him anyway for moral support. It didn’t hurt that he was handsome.

The coldhearted stares that greeted us didn’t matter. We found comfort in each other and formed a friendship from there. Charles Adams was nothing like my ex. The pressure wasn’t there to be anyone other than who I was. He also loved my cupcakes as much as I enjoyed his company.

I always dreamed of finding my soul mate, and then along came Charlie. My perfect match was right here all along. Did I realize it too late?

I adored it!

There’s a few times that I wanted to slap the female Charlie but liked her anyway. Great love story. Disappointed that the scene of Jim begging Charlie to take him back wasn’t fully described. Also sorry that the author didn’t let Charlie slap or at least dump something on the head of the woman who slept with Jim. Just go listen/read! Worth a credit!

I loved it!

This was such an adorable story! They both have great hearts and amazing souls! Those traits can get you in and out of trouble. I want to make their food adventures into a bucket list, yum!

Naturally Charlie!

I love these 2 as Narrators! They did a fantastic job with this book. As for the book, Slow Burn 🔥but that's a good thing in this book. I love that the Charlie's are building their relationship as "Friends". I like that thier relationship doesn't feel rushed. It makes it more realistic. I like that the characters have the same name. Some may find it confusing but I feel it makes them seem more real. Their love story doesn't have a typical romance starter. Their love story starts out a bit more unusual. Love the refresh of this book. "I fell in love with the woman who would become my sun, my beacon, my compass, my everything..."

S.L Scott, love this it has all of the emotions!

Jason Clarke is fantastic as Charlie A! Callie is great
as Charlie B! They see each other on the Subway,
coffee shop etc. They meet upon the way to Funerals.
Get ready for betrayal, jealous family members, jilted
fiancees and a beloved Aunt. Can broken hearts be
mended?

Super sweet:)

A sweet little rom-com!
If you were looking for a romcom, without a lot of drama or angst, this book will hit the spot. I really enjoyed how Charlie and Charlie keep crossing paths, and eventually give in to the fates and decide to strike up a friendship on their own.

Lots of fun

I very much enjoyed this! It was fun, and mostly giggly. Charlie A is beyond lovable, charming, dashing and every other thing you can think of. I’d love to have him in my life 😍 Charlie B is a fun fit with him, but has some left over baggage inside, so it’s easy to say, there are times I’m appreciating him more than she does (not going to lie, I wanted to yell at her). But in the end, all happens as it should, and all Charlie’s are where they should be in the end. And can I just say, listening to Jason Clarke as Charlie A was the bestest 😍 Swoon! Callie Dalton did a great job as Charlie B, a first time listen for me.

Boy Charlie and Girl Charlie!

The narrators brought this one to life and probably made it easier to tell who's point of view you were listening too since they both go by Charlie. I did enjoy this story. From a chance meeting on the subway to being friend zoned because your best friend calls dibs on your soulmate. This was entertaining and without giving too much away from this HEA, I really enjoyed the routine and how Charlie just inserted himself into her routine!

It was good BUT,

I ended up listening to this book based off Jason Clarke being one of the narrators, which never disappoints, but this story just dragged on. It irritated me that girl Charlie just couldn’t figure out her feelings until the last 30 mins of the book.
