About this listen

This story was inspired by my favorite Christmas movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life” with Jimmy Stewart. Whilst my story does not follow that plot, I wanted to write a tale about an angel who helps Elizabeth Bennet one bleak Christmas. Here is the blurb for “An Angel In Her Pocket.”

Life had been hard for Elizabeth Bennet in the months since she refused Mr. Darcy’s proposal at Kent. Lydia eloped with Mr. Wickham, and her father died shortly thereafter. Mr. Collins took possession of Longbourn, forcing her family to live apart to survive. She and Jane left to live in London with the Gardiners, and Elizabeth’s hope of finding employment there was fading quickly as Christmas approached.

Grace Angelini is on a mission from St. Peter to right a wrong. For her plan to work, Fitzwilliam Darcy has to overcome his pride and propose to Elizabeth Bennet a second time, although neither is a part of the other’s circle. Undeterred, Grace does her best to unite the couple by securing a position for Elizabeth as Darcy’s goddaughter’s governess.

Will Grace’s help prove to be a blessing or a curse when Elizabeth’s position is put in peril through no fault of her own?

Helpful Angel!

Really cute story of an angel on a heavenly mission to help Elizabeth. Elizabeth has fallen on hard times now that her father has passed on and the family is forced to leave Longbourne and go to work in order to survive. Caroline is not in this story. She is replaced by an equally repugnant woman who will do anything to be Mrs. Darcy. She is a very mean and self centered woman that is fun to dislike.

This book could have rated a five with me if the narrator had been better.

A Feel-good Story

A delightfully obstinate headstrong angel named Grace is determined that Elizabeth and Darcy obtain their happy ending and she sets forth to help bring it to fruition. A charming short story for the season. An excellent narration by Katherine Anderson. I loved this book and really am happy there’s now an audio version to go along with it. And yes, I believe in angels.

A charming P&P variation

I had so much fun listening to this P&P variation. The writing was very descriptive. I could picture every scene. I loved that Elizabeth carried herself with so much dignity and and integrity in her reduced circumstances. It was endearing to see Darcy become so thoughtful and sensitive. I didn’t care for the narration. I prefer a deeper voice when listening to a story.

A wonderful story!

I really enjoyed the narration. This story is a perfect listen for the Christmas season. An angel Grace makes the decision to reunite Elizabeth and Darcy. Hard times have come to the Bennets and Elizabeth takes a position as a governess. Elizabeth is happy taking care of a little girl named Isabelle. At Isabelle’s birthday party Darcy comes to his God Daughters with a puppy. Elizabeth and Darcy are reconnected. Darcy is determined not to lose Elizabeth when they meet again. There are a few obstacles in their way but love prevails especially when an angel is looking out for their love. I would definitely recommend the audible to the Pride and Prejudice Community.

A lovely story for any time of year

A sweet story with a fresh take on our dear couple, following Mr. Bennet's death.
A short story, but we'll written, with a depth of feeling not easily accomplished in shorter novels.

Elizabeth, with the help of an angel (unbeknownst to her) takes a job as a governess. With the lower status of being in service, she meets Mr. Darcy again.

Their journey of getting it right this time, is the most beautiful part of this book.

Gorgeous Story

Be ready for heartstrings to be yanked about. Grace Angelica is adorable with her antics. ODC have changed significantly since the disastrous proposal. The villan of the story is unrelenting in her machinations.
This is a low angst story with a HEA.
The narrator is quite good and is close to the superb quality of Stevie Zimmerman (though I personally believe she is the queen of JAFF narrators).
Definitely worth the credit.

Perfect!

I absolutely loved this book. It was so beautifully done with the angel named Grace caring for Elizabeth and looking after her, to see that she finally get her Happy Ending. Even her angel gets her 'happy ending'.
As for the narration, it was well done! Good job Ms Anderson.

Very sweet

A perfect story for the holiday season even though holidays are not involved. This is a second chance story for D&E that had a little special help to bring them together.

I love p & p variations. this was just bad. mostly the lack of understanding the regency period. the money the protocol. this was just bad fanfic. it was just lazy writing.
