About this listen

Sistina awakened after millennia of dormancy, her memories in tatters and born anew. Residing in the ruins of an ancient city, she finds herself drawn into a war between two elven nations and the slaver kingdom of Kelvanis when she rescues a princess from slavery. With her domain containing hints of forgotten knowledge, Sistina becomes a dungeon, stronghold, and source of hope all at once. And perhaps, just perhaps, she could finally find love in her new life.

This is a dark fantasy lesbian romance, with a focus on the dark fantasy.

Great Job on the new version.

I have both read and listed to the original and I can say that while some things were changed in this rework I greatly enjoyed it. I also approve of the narrator since she has done a fantastic job with the book. I look forward to the next installment and I will be listening to the original version again to remind myself of the series and to see what minor changes are made.

Before you buy...

I enjoyed the beginning being introduced to the MC well who I think is the MC. Sistina she had another name but not as important. I'm not really sure if she's the MC because we follow other characters POV. I don't find this type of story telling as bad but it's highly frustrating. For example an interesting plot is going on with sistina let's say then boom ya following someone else POV. Kills the flow for me. Also we follow the bad guys POV. I read reviews of this book expecting that but Jesus. I feel the book is like 50% following the bad guys. I have no problem with that but come on I rather follow Sistina story then everyone else's. We also have some POV from side characters. So we have to sit through multiple characters to go back to sistina and found out what she's been up to for like 3 mins. Then switch back to someone else. A lot is going on in this book. The Slavery power wasn't explained as much. I wish it was cause my god it's OP as heck. Especially what happens in the middle of the story. Like Jesus, its that strong that it's can capture a being of that power BS (not tryna spoil who)..... 4/5 Even though I don't like how they don't follow Sistina POV as much and how the Slavery branding isn't really explained. I enjoyed it the other POV does give us insight on events that takes place, feeding us more information. which gave me a headache sometimes but I warmed up to it. I'll definitely purchase the other books. I wanna see how this ends. 5/5 Narration was great had a little bit trouble telling the difference between the characters voices at first.

Even better than the original!

Thanks for giving me a reason to revisit this series. I’ll admit I was skeptical about a new narrator but Sarah did an amazing job! I think Gabriella, the original narrator made the series and characters feel ancient which is good for really old characters like Sistina but Sarah better embodies the more abundant and comparatively younger characters. I did also enjoy the changes to wording and the like. Places where I noticed a difference became better in my opinion. More streamlined and clearer without changing the meaning or intentions behind them. Overall I’m glad this came out and I can’t wait for the next release!
