Unusual companion or not, Damien was still determined to go to a mage college and study magic. He wants nothing more than to live normal life as a researcher, but if Henry’s true nature is revealed, he’ll be killed.

To top it all off, Damien’s teacher is a madman from the front lines of war, his alcoholic dean suspects something is awry with his companion, and Blackmist might possibly be the worst school in history. Damien has to prevent the end of the world, but he isn’t even sure he’s going to make it through Year One at Blackmist.

Basically Perfect

The story was very fun, The relationship between the MC and his companion remind me a lot of Venom and Eddie Brock from the Marvel movies.

if there is anything negative to say (besides I'm sad it's over and we didn't get to hear more stories from auxiliary characters) it's that the MC is a 100% Go-Go-Go! character. I don't mind this but i know I've heard similar complaints about characters like this before. He reminds me a lot of Lindon from Cradle.

Long drawn out story but fun and good

Ok I liked this story. Its slow development was a bit of a new thing for me—slice of life elements were extensive—but fit into the tale well as I continued to listen. The battle scenes were fun, the interaction between characters was very developed, and the grown of characters was detailed and resulted in great impact on the decisions of protagonists and antagonists alike.
Additionally this was the whole series for 1credit—great deal for a lot of listening—so I would recommend it to LitRPG fans that don’t mind learning a world slowly with characters who like to study and practice a lot.

Great action series

This book had some awesome action sequences. Terrible and corny romance though, I could've done without that

Incredible balance of characters and amazing character development!

If you like fantasy and light LitRPG style books, this series is a winner. I recently enjoyed books like Dungeon Crawler Carl and Mimic and Me, for reference of my preference. Incredible characters and build up to the climatic points! Some foul language when used to get a point across but VERY seldom, so it’s pretty safe around most audiences.

Very Enjoyable

Excellent characters and stories. The characters have good development. Some nice laugh out loud moments. Not too number crunchy of a LitRPG. Wonderful story of a boy and his companion from the Void, Henry. Henry loves pancakes, knitting, stacking goats, and smutty novels.

A great value for one credit. Highly recommended. I'll revisit Henry and Damion some day.

Very nice narration.
