A little too military for me.

Still a very good story but I found myself drifting when too much military details were used. Look forward to the release of the next book unfortunately not on audible yet but should be soon.

Such a great story! But performance is lacking..

This is the 10th book in the series. I think the gentleman reading this book has done the last two as well as this one. He would be great if he just read. He TRIES to do the accents, and he's horrible. The worst is Australia, sound more Scottish. Next is Mexican. Not even close. Then poor Titus. Don't know what accent he's trying but it's different every time. Then Russian. That's the best, but still tragically horrible. I usually review the book. But this performance is so bad it overshadowed the storyline.

hard to adapt to change

love the series as a whole and have patiently waited each release on audible. I have listened through numerous different narrators. At risk of delaying any further releases I must say that I am not a fan of this narrators reading of the book. He doesn’t bring masculinity and confidence to John Chase as a character. Its also lacking in different accents, australian just sounds muddied, and hispanic sounds like the old droopy cartoon. I do miss the original narrator jefferey kaffer but the others were okay in my opinion. At least until this one...

Great story, hate the Narration

I love that this book is finally available on audio. and the narrator has a decent voice, but he is NOT John Chase, the narrator makes John sound like a pussy or an accountant with a bad comb over.
And it was the worst Australian accent I've ever heard, he made Luke sound like a village idiot. If you can't do a decent Aussie accent, then do a British accent. And don't get me started on the bad Hispanic accent, smdh.
but the story was excellent as always. Can't wait for the next in the series.

Jeffrey Kafer!!!!!!!!!!

Please find another narrator. This guy puts me to sleep. I loved this series before you changed narrators. There has to be someone better. It sounds like one run on sentence. If I didn’t love this series I wouldn’t say anything. I’d just quit buying it.

Really good but…

You know how you always hear “the book was so much better than the movie”? Thats why I prefer audio books because a good narrator that can make a book even that much better! But on the flip side a bad narrator can completely ruin a good book. A good audible book needs to have a great narrator that fits the character. Edison McDaniels is a great narrator but he’s not right for John Chase. Not at all. He doesn’t make the connection needed for the listener. The last few books in this series that he’s narrated have made me cringe time after time and has ruined the listening experience for me. I’m hoping that a change is made for the next books in the series otherwise I might be done after this book.

This series is just too good to ruin it by choosing a completely inappropriate narrator. John Chase isn’t a 60 something yo man and shouldn’t have a voice that occasionally lisps. John Chase is a 30 something bad as* army major and should sound like one. Also… his inability to do a proper accent, (Russian, Mexican and women for some reason all sound the same) and is just plain awful. Great books to read on your own I guess but not right for Audible.
