Publisher's summary

Cassie Parker has grown used to denying her sexuality. Her father, the fire-and-brimstone Reverend Parker, has made that a necessity. Raised in a web of secrets, sadness, and under the heavy hand of her father's righteous wrath and intolerance, Cassie turns to her art to fill the hole in her heart and erase the memory of a mother who abandoned her in childhood. Then Luke Winston enters her life. Strong, mysterious, and beautiful, Luke sparks Cassie's desire, and takes her heart to places she's never known. Soon Cassie can no longer deny her attraction to women - and especially to Luke.

When Cassie's father makes an unexpected visit, the intrusion on her new life explodes as dark family secrets are revealed. Will Cassie choose a life without family...or a life without love?

Artist's Dream ❤️

Another good one by Gerri Hill. An artist meets an architect, and the sparks start flying!

Cassie and Luke are literally the "love at first sight" couple, but of course, things don't happen right away. Cassie hasn't come to terms with her sexuality because of her upbringing by her father's strict and religious ways. It's wonderful to see her come into her own, finding the freedom to be herself and be able to love whomever she wants. And Luke is perfect for her - patient, loving, caring, and understanding. ❤️❤️❤️

I do wish it was longer. Not only was the couple amazing together, but there were some this I wish I could have seen play out. I won't say what because I don't want to give ay spoilers....but dont worry, it doesn'ttake away from the story.

now that's a romance Novel

this story and these ladies, finally I feel like I'd found what I've been searching for with the multitude of lesfic I've purchased. I wish I could say exactly what it is about this story, if only so I could seek that out in other books, but I suspect it's a combo of the author's great storytelling skills and (of course) the spectacular narration of Abby Craden (I basically consider myself in a long term relationship with the more masc/husky voice of Ms Craden) it is just such fulfilling attraction through developing relationship writing. if course, it has to be one of the shorter stories *sigh*. loved it!

Great multi-layered characters and one heck of a coming out story!

Two beautiful people who have been through trauma and trust issues find each other and a more fulfilling life. There is certainly some spice here with a lot more than beginner’s luck! I will say I needed something at the end regarding letters, reunions, perhaps a tale of two loves. Is there a sequel? This book is a gift though in helping us understand that it is rare that we can change other’s thoughts or behavior. The gift is knowing that we can change ourselves and live our best life! We have to accept that there are some people we must love from a distance or not at all. The narration was good. It should be noted that an irritating character gets an irritating voice, that thankfully softens later on. This was one heck of a coming out story and a romance worth the listen!

Amazing and difficult.

Coming from an extremely difficult religious upbringing...there are parts of this book that really hit way too close to home. Let me just say...religion ruins lives. It took me until my 30s to realize that I would need to leave every part of my life just to be myself also. And altho I am now happily married to my amazing wife...it was not an easy journey. This kind of religious brainwashing is not easy to overcome. Learning how to stand up for yourself and get beyond the shame and guilt and fear is a lifelong challenge. Excellent book.

Just what I needed

Totally loved it!
I'm just surprised that no one pointed out that love was created by god, however you interpret him or her to be. These women found love and "family" together. It was a beautiful love story which overcame hateful misguided preaching from a right wing minister who had let hatred guide his life.
These women and their story were just what I needed! Thank you Gerri Hill for excellent writing and Abby Craden for bringing it to us.
