Publisher's summary

Love doesn't stick to the script in this witty romance from USA Today bestselling author Tawna Fenske.

TV producer Kate Geary is in unscripted heaven. She's piloting a reality series featuring her favorite self-help guru, Dr. Vivienne Brandt. The Dr. Viv - whose nuggets of wisdom helped Kate get through some of her toughest times. Thanks to Dr. Viv, Kate is almost on the verge of figuring everything out. That is, until Jonah Porter, the superhot book nerd Kate just spent an amazing date with, appears at the show's first meeting.

Jonah did not want to get reeled into a world filled with invasive crews, pushy network execs, and over-the-top drama, but a connection to the story leaves him no choice. Fortunately, Kate - hot, smart, and funny - helps make it bearable. Now they're both on the verge of violating their contracts as they find themselves sneaking around off set. But the cameras have a way of finding out everyone's secrets...especially the ones that can break hearts.

The reality of it all....

I really liked the narrator. She did a great job. I also liked the story overall story. I think there was a great meet cute at the beginning. I liked that the characters are in their 30's. Not enough stories like that around lately. The heat level was warm but the intimacy was high. I don't want that to come off like there is not a few sex scenes in the book, because there are but you don't get the gritty details. What you do get is the intimacy of Jonah and Kate really getting to know each other. I usually like the gritty details and did not miss them at all and that was a testament to the story. I will be looking for more from this author now. There was some interesting plot points and laugh out loud moments. Plus, who does not like a guy who will go shirtless to get animals adopted. Well that and he could be a complete smartass. I like that though.

Loved it

Super cute story, predictable, but still fun. Julie romance, a light story without a ton of drama 👍

Enjoyable chick lit

Predictable but still thoroughly enjoyable contemporary romance/chick lit book. Nothing new or groundbreaking here but I don’t usually look for that in chick lit— just likable characters and an interesting setup and follow through. The audiobook was very well narrated by Teri Schnaubelt. I don’t think I have listened to her before but I will definitely look for other books that she has narrated.

Fun & Easy Listen

This is only my second book I have listened to by this author and I have enjoyed both of them, but this one more so then the other one. Tawna's humor and heart collide to make this book funny and sweet at the same time, and when you add in just a touch of angst or conflict, you have a fantastic, easy to read (or listen to) book. I will for sure be reading/listening to more by this author. The narrator really made Kate and Jonah come alive for me as well as Viv.

The heart of it.

I did like this book.... there was someone to love, someone to hate, someone to respect, someone to envy, someone to sympathize with, and someone to get mad at. There was love, passion, and a myriad of truly real emotions. In other words, it was more than just rom-com fun, but it was still worth the ride.

Great story line. But!

This book fired up a pet peeve. If you are going to set your story in a specific location make sure that the narrator knows how to pronounce local locations !!! Just one example, The narrator mispronounced Alki as in Alki Beach. Alki with an I not an e. Get with it and do your research...😱😱😱

Fun light reading

This was a cute story that kept moving at a good pace. The plot was interesting and kept you routing for the main characters. The romance was fun but fraught (always a good combo) with interesting hurdles to overcome. I gave it a 3 because it was a rather simple story with a pretty high rate of predictability. But I enjoy books like that every once in a while when real life gets complicated!
