Publisher's summary

Emily Carlton's life is going nowhere. Single, broke, and stuck in a job she hates, life is a never-ending treadmill of monotony and routine. But at least tonight will be different. She's due to meet old friends and have fun at the beach. But the fun quickly gets out of hand when one of Emily's friends brutally attacks an illegal immigrant in a fit of racist anger.

The consequences are dire, and they soon find themselves on the wrong side of a malevolent curse. A curse that gives them the worst luck. Deadly luck.

If you love dread-filled stories full of scares, then Bad Luck is the book you've been waiting for. Grab your copy today and see what listeners have been shouting about.

This book is a part of The Cursed Manuscripts shared universe.

On December 21, 2012, according to the Mayan Calendar, the world was supposed to end. It didn't. But on that day, 113 mysterious manuscripts were discovered around the world, each one written in blood by an unknown author. After several dozen unexplained deaths befell the finders of said manuscripts, a decision was made to lock them up for good in a secret vault beneath the Vatican. It is said that anyone who reads the stories will die, and as such they are now referred to as The Cursed Manuscripts.

Horror with a conscience

Iain Rob Wright not only crafts a masterful and engaging story, but delivers a lesson in morality as well. Racism and bigotry lead to dire consequences for a group of friends. This story reminds us that it is never right to treat people poorly based on narrow-minded ideas. This is another excellent listen from a talented author and the narration adds a wonderful degree of immersion to the story.

Another solid thrilled from Iain Rob Wright

Iain Rob Wright's Bad Luck is like a crazy blending of Final Destination and It Follows. One night while out on the town, one of Emily's 'friends' goes off on a group of immigrants, things get quite heated, and they end up getting cursed. Not cursed out but actually cursed. And it's not long before they begin to experience bad luck which quickly escalates and it's not long before people begin to drop dead and Emily and the remaining survivors must scramble to find a way to free themselves from the curse. In typical fashion, Iain delivers a fast moving, intense story that will keep you entertained and engaged from start to finish.

uggh

It had the potential to be more interesting but this story was a big dissapointment. Emily is getting the Elena Gilbert treatment (Vampire Diaries) where she has two guys lusting after her and everyone/anyone willing to sacrifice themselves for her for no apparent good reason while she constantly puts herself in harms way so she can "do the right thing". The story just got more exausting as it went on with the end just being a dissappintment.
