About this listen

Embarking on a new adventure.

Having learned some of the rules of his new existence, Andric decides to take his summoned gear and hit the "random location" button. Enamored with the world of Tournion, he can’t wait to find out what is over the horizon. Will he be able to handle what he finds?

Tournion is a troubled land, full of beings vying for power while the Gods push and prod for their own entertainment. New fantastical factions await discovery, along with shades of Earth’s past.

Armed with the gear and companions he’s summoned, Andric and the crew will have to face troubling challenges and contend with perilous dangers. It will take all the skills he’s acquired, a healthy dose of help from his companions, and even the contacts he’s made in the first chapter of his journey to survive the Spine’s Edge.

More Action, More Characters, More Enjoyment.

The story continues to pick up its momentum by sending the MC and his companions to a land already neck-deep in conflict. A plethora of different races are introduced: Orcs, Kitsune, trash-pandas (that part in the story had me laughing), and more. New allies, enemies, and traversed lands adds an enormous amount of world-building to the series.

While the cast of characters increases throughout the story, everyone still maintains a level of agency. Even the most minor companions show that they play a vital role into what's becoming a grand story. Their strong personalities and interactions with the MC and other members in the group brings more life into the characters, making them feel real and not simple pieces that revolve around the protagonist.

The action reaches another level in this book. Instead of a few trolls and some bugs, enemies with abilities that emphasize the excitement that a Litrpg world can bring and the dangers that come with it. Don't want to give any spoilers, but these battles carry weight with rewards and consequences.

The more I listen to Gilliland and Cohen in this series, the more they fit perfectly with the characters. Their performance creates a truly immersive experience for the audiobook.

Overall, this book is where the story goes from a good pacing jog to a full-on sprint. Good narrators and great writing keeps this story exciting.

Need the next book!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series. The character and world development is amazing. Right when the plot was thickening… I found that book 3 has yet to be released 😭. And then, the cliffhanger left me feeling bereft. I’m so desperate to know what happens next I would be willing to be a beta reader… or buy a hardcover copy. Either way… I have to know what happens!

What's to Complain About?

usually, in this genre of books, sequels start to show the weakness of the author or the story. Surprisingly, not here! it's more of the same, and that same is still very good. The characters stay true to who they were in book 1. The story begins progressing a bit quicker now, evolving into a stronger narrative.
I can't wait for book 3. Hopefully, then Purple will get the justice she deserves!

Awesome story

Great story so far, but the story could do without the cliffhanger at the end, especially since this author can't publish a book in almost a year, which will be towards the end of February. If one is published, I'll change my review, but until then, if nothing changes, I will not be continuing this series.

WOW

Great start. But, a lot of action and interesting moments. MC had a lot of action and more action. 2 day long trips no problem. Fun and exciting.

Fun story and intriguing system

Though it may be an isekai. The system the author uses does make it unique and sets it apart from the rest of the genre. Also, it’s refreshing that even though the mc is a good fighter, he is in no way OP. The author has enough twists that one isn’t entirely sure what will happen next. And the world he’s created is fun enjoyable to read about. I look forward to when book 3 comes out.

decent story

I thought this volumn was entertaining. I think there were few nit pick things. I like the story the author is telling.... I do not like the cliffhanger. I think that is not a good way to keep interest. my personal opinion is we do not need theatrics to keep is interested. I will probably wait until the next 2 volumns are out before continuing the series.
