Publisher's summary
In "Behind the Curtain," the fate of civilization is precariously balanced.
Tucked away in a secret CIA bunker, Terry Ferrow, a genius in Artificial Intelligence, has dedicated decades to the "Bright Futures Project." His creation, an advanced AI neural brain chip, was meant to change the world for the better.
However, as Terry delved into his groundbreaking work, the world above descended into chaos. Society became trapped in a web of mass surveillance, its freedom slipping away under the watch of a corrupt government. These "Enlightened Ones" twisted Terry's invention into a tool of oppression.
The stakes couldn't be higher as Terry squares off against the monstrous reality his brain chip spawned. Can he break the shackles of his own making and free humanity from the jaws of a technological nightmare? Or will he be consumed by the very beast he unleashed?
Prepare for a gripping tale as Terry Ferrow battles to dismantle the chains forged by his creation. "Behind the Curtain" is not just a story about redemption; it's an epic narrative of a man fighting to save a world on the edge. Watch as humanity teeters on the brink in this pulse-pounding saga, where the outcome will determine the very soul of civilization.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Story
It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
In the not-too-distant future, a 21-member crew launches from Earth. Their mission: to establish a temporary colony on Mars. Little do they know that colony will become permanent–and the last stand of the human race. Because, without warning, every single person left on Earth simply...vanishes. Now, a thousand years later, the resources needed to sustain life are running out, and the very existence of the Mars colony is threatened. Humankind has only one option–to return to its home planet.

Story
The wall just didn’t look right. Alex has been trying to cope. Life after his deployment had been rough. His ex-wife thought he needed to stop disappointing their daughter. She was right. He would try harder. With six hours before his little girl’s fourth birthday party, he saw the anomaly. One wall was too short. Plenty of time to tear out a panel and look behind it. He found a brick wall. His house wasn’t made of brick. Behind that was another just like the first. He still had time. When the second wall came down, Alex stood and stared at the shining doorway.

In the fifth millennium, Humanity has made it... ... they have settled the galaxy! This feat was only possible through the help of the Kantaki, insectoid aliens who possess the technology of faster-than-light space travel. Two superpowers, the Consortium and the Alliance, rule over the vast human empire. In the year 421 of the new era, the leader of the Consortium, Rungard Valdorian, wants only one thing: to become immortal, as the biological treatments that prolong his life no longer have an effect. Though he's wealthy beyond imagination, it isn't enough to buy more time.

One of the best dystopia, action-adventure stories I ever read.
It's been awhile since I've listened to a story that had me at the edge of my seat (even while driving). It has the right balance of mystery, intrigue, action, and plot twists that kept you guessing and rooting for the good guys. The way it was narrated made you care for the protagonists of the story, despise the antagonists, wonder if there was someone who was gonna betray them, and if the heroes were going to make it. Again, a great story. Nicely done.
Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.
