Story
Grace Walker doesn't do relationships. She spent her childhood in and out of foster homes, she and her siblings looking after each other when their drug-addicted mother couldn't. With such a dysfunctional family, Grace just doesn't think she's relationship material. She'd rather play the field and otherwise keep to herself. But then she runs into someone from her childhood: Eva Carrington, an orphaned heiress who did a brief stint in a children's home alongside Grace. The two felt a strong connection as children, and now that they're adults, it's even stronger.

Story
For solitary novelist Jorie Price, true love seems as fictional as the shape-shifting creatures she writes about in her paranormal romances. Griffin Westmore doesn't believe in love, either, but she's one of those not-so-fictional shape-shifters who secretly live among humans. When Jorie's writing gets uncomfortably close to the truth, Griffin is sent to investigate and, if necessary, kill the author to protect the secrets of her kind. But when Griffin unexpectedly finds herself drawn to Jorie, her world is turned upside down.

Story
It’s been two years since Anna Cartwright’s life fell apart. During her first school trip as a young teacher, a student went missing and was never found. Not only was her career ruined, she was also accused of having an affair with fellow teacher and prime suspect Graham. Facing questions from journalists, police and family, Anna said she didn’t know what happened. She was lying. Now, Anna has returned to Australia. Her only hope is Land’s End Area School, an isolated concrete wasteland perched on the cliffs.

Story
My fiancé brought me tea and scrambled eggs in bed that morning, and we snuggled together, talking about buying our rings, and about our perfect wedding next year. Then we headed into town. He held my hand and gazed at the ring I liked best, a smile spreading slowly over his face. Then a glass of bubbly to celebrate. I felt flushed, excited and ready for the rest of my life with the man I loved. We race to get on the train home. It screams to a halt and I run towards its open doors. Made it. I think he’s right behind me — but when I turn around, he’s gone.

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Great story
Wow, the second book in this series is even better than the first. An emotional roller coaster thrill ride! I loved the way the story took some unexpected turns and the narration was superb!

Great Story and Narration!
"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review."
I was so pleasantly surprised with this book. It was really suspenseful and had an enormous twist that was unique. It’s also great that the author developed her characters so thoroughly. Just a fun story to listen to. I’ll definitely be looking at her other books, and recommend them to others.
Narration was perfect in my opinion, her voice suited the story and characters quite well. Sound quality was excellent.

Are there more books coming in this series???
Although I haven't heard the first book this worked well as a standalone. The characters were unique and different than I typically encounter in my reading. their personalities were well developed and engaging. The plot was engrossing. This novel was paced in a way that I was grabbed from the first words. I listened to the entire novel in one sitting. It was a rewarding 5 1/2 hours. Michelle Arnold can spin great story. I also appreciate the strength of the love and commitment shared in this piece. It was also refreshing to have the issue of family expressed so well.

A very good sequel
In this sequel Amy and Lira have gotten married and are settling into their new lives together, when a seeming new killer arises that is targeting families, and Amy begins receiving threats from within the PD about her marriage to Lira. With the multiple storylines running together as well as the continual development of the core cast this book flows very well and is continually entertaining from start to finish.
The narration by Lisa L Wiley is once again very good, and she succeeds greatly when inhabiting Amy and Lira and their interactions. This book I thought improved the intertwining of the case and the character development and relationship building. The case was always entertaining and the journey to catch the killer was suspenseful and engrossing. The two lead characters are as enchanting and enjoyable to spend time with as the first go around and with a plot more tightly wound throughout the book, I thought this was a great sequel. I look forward to checking out whatever comes next from Michelle Arnold.

Great series
I can’t wait for the next book! Narrator is either doing a better job, or I’m just becoming accustomed to her.
