After an experience he’d rather forget, Vincent is determined to be done with art. So when he and his little sister, Lili, spend spring break with their art conservator great-uncle, Vincent’s plan is to stay glued to his phone.

That is, until Lili disappears into one of the world’s most famous paintings and Vincent learns his parents have been hiding something from him: Their family is the last of The Restorationists, a secret society with the power to travel through paintings—and a duty to protect them from evil forces.

With Lili’s safety on the line, leaving art behind is no longer an option. Vincent must team up with his know-it-all second-cousin Georgia, wrestle with why his parents lied to him, and confront both his past and a future he never wanted. Young readers are invited into a captivating universe where paintings become a portal—and adventure and danger lurk beyond every canvas.

My 11 yo daughter said, “It’s amazing! I liked everything!” My 13 yo daughter said her favorite part was Jesus on the Sea of Galilee.

Fun to learn more about art, but story was a page-turner and fun. Looking forward to next one!

As an artist, I enjoyed every minute of this book. The story and the way it describes how art can make people feel! Van Gogh is one of my favorite artists and to read this book and learn more about his work in a fun way was a true joy!

If you love art, this is for you!

This is a beautiful and enchanting story for middle grade to adult. It feels a little like James Ponti’s series Framed or City Spies series meets Brandon Sanderson’s The Evil Librarians in a world of art with a dash of magic from Narnia.
This is a beautiful reflection on what art should be in our hearts, minds, and lives.
I so appreciated the authors Christian view on things, and really wished I’d had this book as a child.

A beautiful and artistic word journey through the world of visual art

I liked when Vincent and Georgia were traveling through all kinds of paintings that Vincent Van Gogh designed. What I disliked was when the children were not being treated nicely and they were being In cages, that made me feel bad.

A story about the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh

An excellent middle grade novel that blends magical fantasy with the unusual topic of classical art. While the adults are away (or being bumbling and unaware), the pre-teens adventure through classical paintings, discover a dozen lost children, and save a priceless painting from a ring of art thieves. Along the way they learn some important truths about their abilities, their values, and what art really is. I personally really enjoyed this audiobook and finished it in a single day. I’ve ordered the physical copy (with all the illustrations!) for my own pre-teen.

Excellent middle grade novel

Great kid story! I appreciate the exposure to art and the introduction to Fave. honestly it was a little skinny on the faith side but perhaps you develop it more in your later books.
