Publisher's summary

"But heed this warning, and heed it well—your mate's life is linked with the very male she is destined to kill."

With an iron collar wrapped around her throat, Sage is cut off from her powers and forced to live in Clearwell Castle, home to her enemy—the ruthless king whose bloodthirsty rule has led to the deaths of thousands of Cursed. Sage knows that if she is going to stop the persecution of the children of the Old Gods, she has to end the king's reign. Permanently.

When she meets the devastatingly handsome heir to the Edenvale throne, Prince Aurelius, she finds another reason to stay at the castle. Who is this mysterious male that bears no resemblance to the king, and what is it about him that makes him feel so... familiar?

As Sage begins to unlock the memories from her past, she discovers that Von hid more from her than just his identity—he hid what he took from her. Everything that she thought she knew about the seductive, dark, apple-loving immortal is brought into question, and there is only one way to find out the truth—she needs to remember it all.

Like a deadly brushfire on a windy day, the past is coming. Will it forge Sage into someone stronger, or will it consume her?

That is, if the lovers of her past don't devour her first.

Between Sun and Moon is the darker, steamier sequel to the best-selling Between Life and Death.

A very promising sequel

Jaclyn Kot's Between Sun and Moon continues to explore the intricate world-building and character development established in its predecessor. While the pacing may be slower than some readers might prefer, the story offers a rich tapestry of characters and complex relationships.

Sage's journey of self-discovery and personal growth remains a central focus. However, her lack of questioning of certain aspects, such as Von's persistent use of the term "mate" or "bonded", until the end of this book was frustrating to me as my first question would have been "what's that supposed to mean?!" The lack of Von's presence in significant portions of the narrative is also a noticeable absence.

Aurelius's revelation as a morally ambiguous character is both expected and satisfying. His betrayal adds a layer of complexity to the story and sets the stage for future conflicts.

One additional challenge for listeners of the audiobook is the sometimes unclear distinction between scenes in Sage's past life and those in the present. This can make it difficult to follow the narrative and fully appreciate the context of certain events.

As the series progresses, it will be intriguing to see how the author develops the overarching storyline. Will Von and Sage ultimately unite? The remaining books in the series hold the promise of exciting developments and satisfying conclusions.

Absolutely beautiful

Just when I think I cannot get more obsessed with this story… something new happens and my obsession gets deeper. The character development (especially the FMC…) the plot twists and turns, and performances… chefs kiss💕

NOW WHEN IS THE NEXT GDAMN BOOK COMING OUT?

Fantastic!

This duet narration was *chef’s kiss* perfectly delivered. I absolutely loved the narrators. I loved the build on the story from book 1. I cannot wait for the next books in the series

A wild ride

Some pacing things were a little odd in this book compared to the first. Also Sage is SLOW to pick up things, come on girl. Tip: read your trigger warnings. Things get steamy but not always in a great way.

Painful

it's one of those books that you just want to throw across the room every other chapter. Most of the book felt like the FMC being an idiot, even considering the heart situation. Hopefully the next book makes up for the frustration this book left me feeling.
