About this listen

The war between the Freeborn and Commonwealth may be over, but the veteran crew of the Celia has learned that old rivalries die hard, especially when the captain and crew chief, both former Commonwealth Military, learn that the notorious Freeborn assassin Stormcrow has been living right under their noses as a crew member on their ship.

But apparently, time can heal old wounds, and now they have bigger problems than fighting amongst themselves. Not only is the ship's pilot (and the captain's husband) in desperate need of medical attention, but they still have yet to solve the mystery of their young passenger whose mind kicks into autopilot during emergency situations, showing that she knows...and can do things that a young girl her age should not be able to with her limited experience.

Now as the Celia finally arrives at Porto San Lucia, the crew is hoping to get their crew mate treated and some questions answered, but things go south pretty quickly when a mob heiress is kidnapped while they are in port.

it was okay

it's a story with a lot of potential, but is lacking closure. if there is a third book in this series I cannot find it.

Loved these two books!

I have listened to all of NC Reeds books so far and this one didn’t disappoint me. The only thing I want to know is how long will it be before book 3 is available to me!

Not my kind of story.

Birds of a Feather:
I really wanted to like this series because I love N. C. Reed. I really think I hate Lucy and she's not even real but I could find absolutely no redeeming qualities in her. I guess that is a kudos to Reed; to know a character well enough to spark such a strong emotion from the readers. Well, this book does not have a complete story so, there probably should be another book but honestly if it is all about the girl then, I don’t think I’ll read it; unless I get it free as an Audio book. Maybe.
