About this listen

Ezekyle Abaddon and his warlords strive to bind the newborn Black Legion together under threat of destruction. Now Khayon, as Abaddon's most-trusted assassin, is tasked with ending the threat of Thagus Daravek, the self-proclaimed Lord of Hosts - a rival to the Ezekyle's final fate.

Fighting the vile whispers of the Dark Gods within his mind, Abaddon turns a fevered gaze back to the Imperium, where his destiny awaits. Yet the Emperor's Champion and his Black Templars stand guard at the gates of Hell, and Sigismund has waited centuries to face Abaddon in battle.

Wine tastes even better with time.

You thought the first Black Legion book was good did ya? Well boy do I have a surprise for you, you ain’t seen nothing yet! The second is a even sweeter taste of what the amazing ADB can do and he flexes hard with this one really showing why he is a black library mainstay. Congrats to all involved!

Another great look into the Black Legion

This was a great follow-up book, so much more back story and arc advancement. I love this genre so much.

Black told in shades of gray

First let me just say I would love to just shake Aaron Dembski-Bowden's hand for this one.

It has been a long long time since I enjoyed and was enraptured by a story so much. I found myself taking the long way home, or even driving in circles around the block to get through sections, I could not step away.

I have been in warhammer 40k universe since the early 90's. Chaos to me was always brutal, visceral and mindless. No honor all war. The great enemy etc etc. Dembski-Bowden throws a whole bucket of monkey-wrenches at this concept with his depiction of the Black legion and even Abaddon as characters with deep honor and not the pawns of evil gods, but as resistant pawns in their game. The characters have so many layers and depths that the impact on me was striking as I considered the implications of what I was hearing. This story paints the Imperium of Man just as guilty as the 'heretics'.

Just an amazing amazing book and the way Jonathan Keeble read the story(told in the perspection of the protagonist, Khayon, brings this sardonic, calculating and deadly character to life.

I have bought the previous book now and am going through Talon of Horus. (I had not realized I was in book 2, derp) and am very anxious for more on this line.

ADB does it again.

Loved this book. It's a great sequel to The Talon of Horus. Before I knew it, the book was over. Eagerly awaiting the final installment.

Simply Epic

As always, Aaron Dembski-Bowden delivers peak Warhammer for our wanting souls. Black Legion the successor of The Talon of Horus engages and mystifies. Just as it's predecessor. I will be impatiently waiting for the third installment in this series.

From shame and shadow recast. In black and gold reborn.

Black Revision

why take established characters and now turn them into completely different personalities?
I enjoyed this but it was a sad follow up to such a great book as The Talon of Horus.
