I have loved this series for a long time. this could have worked if not for the overpowering background nonsense. the original narration was beyond perfect.

words please. not soud effects and useless music.

I got this title as it was a graphic audio rendition of this series which I generally enjoy, however the sound effects in this are so loud sometimes you can barely hear the narration. Definitely takes away from the story, unlistenable at times.

Hard to listen to due to sound effects

I have a samsung I changed the equalizer from normal to classic, it fixed the sound fx from being overwhelming. I can clearly hear every word now.

For everyone complaining that the sound effects overtake the voice

This was one of the best books I’ve listened to, I can’t believe this isn’t a HBO show yet. Game of thrones be damned, this is an absolutely brilliant series.

The writing, the story telling.. masterclass.

I read this series twice a year. It’s borderline scripture to me. I have quotes around the house. I recommend this to everyone. The OG narrator (Simon Vance) is the greatest. So once you’re able to accept that he’s not present in this production you can start to appreciate this as a new (read: different) production of a beloved story. Some of the new voices are perfect for the characters. (But some of the pronunciation is annoying)

A lot of people complaining about the sound effects seem to misunderstand that this is a completely different way of enjoying the books. Having finished this first book I will be listening to all the rest in this format to see a different “version” of the story.

It has its own value for sure and scenes take on a new life in this production but my favorite version of this book remains Simon Vance’s narration. We’ll see how I feel after book 2. Starting it now…

I listen to it twice a year, every year. Amazing story, character development, world building, magic system, and incorporation of Scripture and Biblical principles. Can't write a review long enough, so I'll leave it at that.

This is my favorite series. After LOTR.

Always loved reading books, including the Lightbringer series by Brent Weeks. This is my first audio book and the Dramatized Adaptation did not disappoint. The added effects for actions and music really elevated the story telling to a whole new level. The only thing that could be better would be if they made a live action Adaptation next. Great fantasy series for even those who simply dabble in the genre. A must read or listen in some form.

Amazing movie in your mind

The writing and voices were wonderful. I've listened to many Graphic audio books and I have never had the minor issue I did have with this one book. When there was a battle scene, it was hard to hear the narrator over the sound effects.

overall great story, only one minor issue
