Publisher's summary

When one of Santa's reindeer meets a grisly end during the annual A Downtown Dickens Christmas Festival, Rue realizes her enemies are closing in on her location, and Samford will pay the price.

But when one creature turns into two, and two into three, and then three into four, Rue knows the problem is bigger than a singular threat to her new hometown. And that's before a holiday shopper strolls into Hollis Apothecary claiming to be a long-lost relative. Of her father's.

As old loyalties are tested and new relationships threaten to unravel the fabric of her identity, Rue must choose either the family she was born into or the one she created for herself, and the losing side might not survive her decision.

Contains mature themes.

Compelling Story

I couldn’t stop listening to this intriguing tale. Oh grandma, what a witch you are! Sometimes meeting family you never knew you had isn’t always a good thing. But family is family, so let’s go say “Hey” to gramps while we’re at it. Rue isn’t having the easiest of times. At least not with the relatives.

The gang does celebrate Christmas so you could technically call this a holiday novel. Although Clay isn’t so sure about decorating gingerbread cookies.

There is a lot of action, shanigans, and secrets divulged, and a bunch more fun stuff to keep you listening.

Each book in the series continues to improve which makes it something you don’t want to miss.

great story. bad narrator

i loved the book. i like the story, which is why im on book 3 but the narrator's voice is not for me. her male voices sounded like a little girl imitating her dads voice. overall it took time to get through because i can only take so much at a time 😂

Repetitive mush

The underlying story had a good premise. Unfortunately there is very little story and a lot of repetitive, juvenile professions of lust between the MC and her love interest. The MC is supposed to be a mature woman but acts like a love sick teen. This book barely qualifies as a paranormal book since the supernatural takes a back seat to the poorly written romance.
