I thought this book was decent generic fantasy, nothing special but entertaining. The narrator might be the worst I have heard, she mispronounced words, had a whiney annoying voice at times and the sound volume seemed to go up and down.

Enjoyed the characters and always a fan of Douglas Niles.

What about Dara Rosenberg’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed her voice and the characters a lot. Second book I have heard narrated by her and she does not disappoint.

This story is amazing and fun... Though I might be biased being a fan of the Druid class in Dungeons and Dragons. The reader incorrectly pronounces many if the terms, the worst veins the goddess Chauntea. It's not a big deal though. Great read and audio format was a nice convenience.

I don't know if it was early in Dara Roseburg's career or what, but her reading style is broken and disjointed. So much so that it is sometimes difficult to even enjoy the story, and her pronunciation mistakes and littered thought the entire book. I'm hoping by the third one she has improved, but if the second is any indication, it's unlikely. great sorry, mediocre reading.

We learn of the High King and find out a greater power is contributing to the problems in the Moonshae. I highly recommend this book.

A New High King, Another Battle But War Is Not

The story is decent for a RPG-based novel, maybe I shouldn't have re-visited the material after reading a lot of these as a teenager in grades 5-9. The performance is mediocre at best, with some voicing choices very confusing, and a number of places where the cadence and pronunciation should have been corrected with additional takes and editing.

A questionable performance of a decent story

Story is descent, but the performance was dreadful. There were many jarring mispronunciations throughout the performance, mainly with homographs rather than proper nouns. It's like she is just reading the words with no understanding of context. The biggest offender was 'loping' as in the stride of a 4-legged animal which she often pronounces as something being cut off. There were several others throughout, and each time it is distracting. At times, it is very evident that a segment had been re-recorded. Too bad the mispronunciations were not also fixed.
