About this listen

Pages Gone By is more than just the only used book store in Erin, Ohio. It’s also a favorite meeting place for writers and readers. And early one morning, it becomes the scene of a murder, when a body is found in the romance section. Is the steamy novel Love’s Dark Secret, clutched in the victim’s hand, a clue to the killer? Or is it more significant that the murder weapon was a statue of the iconic Maltese Falcon of film-noir fame?

As polymath mystery writer Sebastian McCabe and sardonic sidekick Jeff Cody try to unmask the murderer of a friend, they get more help than they need from a talk-show psychologist and a group of would-be mystery writers with more imagination than deductive skills. But only they know that one suspect has big secrets to hide - secrets that Mac and Jeff hope don’t have to be revealed. An homage to the golden age of detective fiction, the witty and suspense Bookmarked for Murder once again shows why novelist and screenwriter Bonnie MacBird called Dan Andriacco “a master of mystery plotting”.

Surprisingly fine book for readers who enjoy the challenges mystery authors face. I learned a lot - in snips and bits - as the amateur sleuths
talk their way through to solve the identity of a murderer. Excellent mystery. If you like mystery book stores. authors, talk- solving and
just fun....

I can't get enough of this series :)

By now, everybody knows that I really love this series. I love the characters and I love the banter, and I love everything about these books.

A lot of red-herrings and lots of allusions to classic mysteries made the book a lot of fun and I was clueless about who the culprit was until the great reveal :)

Another great story in this series!

Great Listen!

Bookmarked for Murder by an Andriacco had pulled me in from the very beginning. I really enjoyed Tom Lennon's performance. He adds the right inflection to his voice that really connects the characters to the story. I loved how the story progressed and how it was talked through.

McCabe & Cody are the best!

Bookmarked for Murder (Book 5 in the series) by Dan Andriacco is wonderful. It has all the elements a mystery reader would enjoy - mystery book store setting, amateur writers group, mentions of classic golden age mysteries, plus murder, blackmail, and campus scandals. Mix them all together and you have a great mystery story! I also love the subplots and the interpersonal side stories. I enjoy learning more about the characters and seeing them mature and grow. The narration by Tom Lennon is also wonderful. His creation of different voices for the characters just brings them to life! I very highly recommend this book and the series!

very good

I enjoyed the several subplots. This gamble paid off in murder rather than money as expected. Boy, that backfired big time. I guess you have to know the character and integrity of whomever you try to blackmail. This was a good mystery and great sleuthing skills. I find Linda an unnecessary annoyance and would prefer not to hear about/from her. She's a distraction from the good stuff!! For all Jeff's sleuthing skills he couldn't see what was right in front of him towards the end!!! SMH! I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.

Great Characters - Ought to be a TV Series

McCabe and Cody are a terrific pair of detectives. In this one I was in the dark completely concerning the identity of the murder right up until the last minute.
