About this listen

Trey Garrison is an expert at keeping his clients secure and his heart guarded. But he was unable to protect his nephew Benjy from being kidnapped. He'll do anything to help his sister get her son home safely. Even if it means setting aside his reservations and consulting a so-called psychic.

Jaida West recognizes Trey as a skeptic, but she also senses his desperation. Benjy's plight touches her deeply and she wants to help. First, though, she has to convince Trey to believe in her abilities. Their frantic journey would turn distrust to passion, but the danger surrounding Benjy grows with each passing day.

The child's rescue requires a daring plan. One that might cost them everything...

One of My Favorites

I really love this story. The plot is interesting and has some good twists and turns to keep you guessing. I also really like the characters, one a psychic and the other a non-believer security expert. The narration is good with you being able to tell which gender each character is by voice and it has some funny parts and interesting personality quirks in its characters. For readers unsure if they want to try it based on the title/cover, Benjy plays an important part in the story but doesn't take up the whole book. This is one of my favorite romance novels!

Excellent..

Alrighty then, this was one great love story and a terrific story about a physic and a non-believer that she soon convinced she was the real thing. This was about a kidnapped 18 month old boy who had been stolen from his mother from the park, where the bad guy had injected her with something and took off with Benjy. Whatever Lauren was injected with nearly killed her and when she woke up she begged her brother, Trey, to go to Arkansas and get Jaida West, the physic. Thus, began the trip back to L A then on to Boston then to a theme park when they found the baby. Whew, what Jaida went through when it came to crowds was just horrendous. Benjy was found at about 60 or 62% and the rest of the book was centered on finding out who did it and why. AND having Trey realize he was in love with Jaida, of course.

The chemistry between Trey and Jaida was incredible. They just had to jet passed the electrical pulses that shot through both of them when they touched; yeah, that was interesting. And it was so funny how servers reacted when she ordered food, 2 cheeseburgers, French fries, soda and a milk shake, as an example. She was very thin but she had to eat that way at every meal for strength. Trey told her once that they needed to order room service so she could get her 5000 calories for that day.

The rest of the book was about getting Lauren’s husband being arrested for all sorts of things, including murder, and catching the second kidnapper that got away. It was a very exciting book.

The only thing wrong with the book was the title and the cover. I almost didn’t buy this because of them. It was more of a love and paranormal story than it was a story about Benjy. And it had several sex scenes that were explicit. It was a good story but it wasn’t ALL about the kid and that’s what the cover and title wants to make you believe. But I’m glad I listened to it.

As to the narration: Coleen Marlo was pretty good. Not all that much emotion but at least her men sounded like men. That’s all I can ask. I would listen to her again.

Great story:l, mediocre narrator

Someone should tell this narrator how to properly pronounce “inexorably,” especially given the number of times it’s used in this book.

Not nearly as good as others

I really enjoyed the Mindhunter series and this just didn’t live up to that. Both the story and the narration left something to be desired.
