Publisher's summary

Rules single dads should never break…
1. Don’t hire your best friend's little sister.
2. Don’t let her move in.
3. DON’T get her pregnant.

I hired Gen to be my live-in chef, not my future baby mama.

She’s supposed to be baking me a cake. Now I’m the one putting a bun in her oven.

Between business deals and bedtime stories with my 10 year old baby girl, my plate is full.

Definitely, don’t have time to be playing patty cake with the chef.

It’s only for three months. I got this.

But somehow, late nights in the kitchen have me lifting her onto the island and tasting what she has to offer.

If the appetizer is this good I can't wait for the main course.

So when an ex shows up to threaten her life, he’ll find just how far this Daddy Warbucks will go to protect what’s his.

Nobody messes with daddy’s girls…
Not when a second helping of fatherhood is on the way.

The AI voice

The voice sometimes doesn't sound bad, but for somebody like me, I have a pretty big library and there's just no emotion in the voice. the story was pretty good but the AI kept taking it out out drawing me out of the story. I just wish a person read this

Great Storyline terrible storyteller

I loved the plot and love story of this book! The characters were well developed, and believable. However, the virtual voice was deadpan and made so many reading errors. This all made me distracted. Please stop using virtual voice!

I hate virtual narration.

Maybe the story line could have been ok, but I was so distracted by the stilted virtual narration I couldn’t even get close to finishing.

Hard to listen to

This one was rough to hear for a couple of reasons.
1) so many narration errors! Genevieve was called Gen. the virtual voice translated this as General
The Black Fig restaurant was often called The Black Figure. This definitely detracted from the story and my enjoyment! Especially during a sexy scene when Nate called the FMC General! 😳
2) the romance was just lacking. There was no real chemistry between the characters. No feeling other than occasional sex, and even that felt lacking.

Overall this wasn’t the best of the bunch. I did like the other ones though.

A good read

I enjoyed the book and the characters very much. I did think the Gen was a little selfish for evenly leaving. Right? The narration by the computer was better on this book than it was on the last two books.

New TitleBroken Story with Virtual Voice Recording

The story began with the main character screwing a stranger in an ally outside of the restaurant she is the head chef for. Who would do that? And then she didn’t recognize that he is her brother’s best friend?? It’s like the author had the plot and ending worked out, but didn’t know how to get her characters to that point.

Now let’s talk about the virtual voice. It was not good. The virtual voice didn’t know the correct pronunciations for words in context. She pronounced tear, like tearing paper, when the girl was tearing up, about to cry. The phrasing for some of the expressions was also incorrect. There was a lack of proper inflection for reading a story out loud, that you do get from a human reader. Also, they should use a male voice on the chapters for the man, it made the storyline hard to follow, I could remember who was talking because of the sameness of the voice. I think the virtual voice made this very difficult to understand, however the book itself was equally at fault.

I may give the virtual reader one more try, but I will not give the author another try.

Lack of feeling

The reading is so robotic and the pronunciation is horrible. I really think it is a good story but the AI voice makes it suck.
