What if you not only fell back through time...but fell in love, too?
Gabi knows she’s left her heart in the fourteenth century, and she persuades Lia to help her to return, even though they know doing so will risk their very lives. When they arrive, months have passed, and all of Siena longs to celebrate the heroines who turned the tide in the battle against Florence - while their enemies will go to great lengths to see them dead.
Even in the midst of the battles, Gabi’s heart is increasingly drawn to Marcello, just as Lia’s is to Luca. In medieval Italy, the sisters discover things inside themselves that they couldn’t seem to find in the present - connection with their mom, courage within, and the understanding that a life well lived often means encountering sacrifice. But in a world long past, many things still keep Gabi from giving Marcello her heart forever…. And one thing in particular calls all three of the Betarrinis home.

What made the experience of listening to Cascade the most enjoyable?
I loved the intonation of the reader, making it so comfortable and drawing me into the book. What did you like best about this story?
What I loved most about this book, is that it had me on the edge of my seat from the first chapter. It was a whirlwind of a book, as Gabi and Lia find themselves running from one adventure and into another. Gabi also went through a tremendous growth in her personality, and comes out on the other end for the better. In the mean time her mom has a few surprises for the girls, she's not all scientific but have stronger metal lying underneath. Marcello and Luka risk all to save the Gabi and Lia from an aweful fate, if I say anymore I'd give it all away. Let's say that with great sacrifice comes great love. The ending left me wanting for more, simply having to know what was going to happen. Definitely a great read, and I'd recommend it to anyone. It is clean and romantic, but nothing that tweens can't also enjoy, so family friendliness is a 5 in my book. You can feel comfortable reading this with your tween.Simply marvelous!

Would you try another book from Lisa T. Bergren and/or Pam Turlow?
No, neither of them.Has Cascade turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, I love YA, and Iove time travel books, this just isn't a good one.Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Pam Turlow?
Someone who sounded more like a teenager. You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
The parts when they left out the over-the-top lovey dovey stuff wasn't too bad. The writing of the dialogue is just awful and really brought the book down in my opinion. I really enjoy time-travel books, romance novels, adventures, you name it, but there was WAY to much cheese in this book. I really try not to bash books too badly when I rate them, but seriously? This book was just not good.Any additional comments?
There are so many other great books out there, don't waste your time or money/credit on this one...Not worth the time
