About this listen

When Gwen Fletcher moves to Misty Harbor, Maine to fulfill her dream of opening her own restaurant, she isn't prepared for the throng of suitors who want to pay homage to the town's only bachelorette. Much to the dismay of the town's gentlemen, Gwen has only two things on her mind - getting her restaurant open before the tourist season begins and getting to know carpenter Daniel Creighton. But the uncooperative Creighton's odd behavior may preclude her from doing either of these.©2002 Marcia Evanick (P)2002 Recorded Books,LLC Contemporary Contemporary Romance Fiction Romance Women's Fiction Restaurant

Credit Worthy

This tale kept my interest throughout. I had to lol at all the bachelor men who came a courting when the men discover there is a new lady in town and that she can cook. There were a couple of sad parts, Daniels story especially. However, true love won out. This is one that I will be reading/listening to again.
Johanna Parker did a great job reading this story, I only realized near the end that she was the narrator for the Sookie Stackhouse novels. LOL, must have been Eric's voice that tipped me off.

Enjoyable start to a romance series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I'm so glad I took a chance on an author I'd never read before. I really liked Evanick's characters and setting. I hope Audible will make the rest of the series available to us! Recommended to fans of Contemporary Romance.

Any additional comments?

Johanna Parker did a wonderful job with the narration. Loved her performance!

A great little unknown series

What made the experience of listening to Catch of the Day the most enjoyable?

The story which is delightful. It was fun seeing the main character Gwen fall in love with this wonderful small town and meet the man of her dreams. It is unfortunate that the whole series never made it into audiobooks, it is a delightful and a great summer or Christmas read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hunter who came out of his shell when Gwen, the owner of the restaurant, hires him and eventually makes him an assistant chef. Plus, after coming back from Vietnam a shell of the man he was, he finally has the courage to reconnected with the love of his life.

Have you listened to any of Johanna Parker’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, she is wonderful. She also does the Sookie Stakehouse"s series and she amazes me what she can do with her voice. Sometimes I have to remind myself that it is a woman doing a male voice, because she is so good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me sigh and then it made me get made and then it made me sigh again. The audiobook really makes this story pop.

Any additional comments?

Great series, but it is hard to find now.

Good story

I think this author got into my dreams from some years ago. Always wanted to run a place like this...
I think this story is a few years old. It is written in the style of some years ago. VietNam Vet instead of Iraq or Afganistan. The romance was really sweet, sexy too.
The narrator was very professional, her delivery was good.

Pleasant Predictable romance

Relaxing read with pleasant characters and nice little town. Very sweet cozy romance. Nothing deep.

Great story

I really liked this book. The romance between Gwen and Danniel is very well written. The narrator is excellent. I liked this so much that I clicked on the authors name to see if she and the narrator had any other books...they did. I'll be listening to Blueberry Hill next.

Marvelous!

This book is really good! It has nice plot, and the characters are funny and endearing. It's true, there is not a lot of controversy in the storyline, but sometimes you just want a nice, relaxing read. This fit the bill in spades! I will definitely be looking for more form this author.

carefree choice

Not the best book ever but I definitely liked it, it was just what I needed. I simply wanted to listen to a book that was carefree and this was a great pick. Made me smile, I enjoyed the reader, and sure it was fairly predictable but most romance novels are. All in all I liked this book a lot; it was great for my morning walks.

Amazing

Loved it! Wish more of her books were available! That's all I have to say however audible has a 15 word minimum... This should get me to that amount and some...
