About this listen

It’s been six months since I died on Earth and was brought to the kingdom of Craesti. In that time, I’ve made friends, gained a family, and begun learning how to gather and channel Aether, aka magic. I started attending Azyl Academy, the premier magic school of the city, after it was discovered that my talent was exceptionally high. I am learning alchemy, inscription, and how to fight, all with the goal of expanding the kingdom and keeping the populace safe.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing, though. I made an enemy of one of the local noble clans, and just survived an assassination attempt thanks to one of the guardian beasts of the academy I have a budding friendship with. Now I have to recover from my injuries and continue to advance. Coming soon will be our ranking tournament, where we will compete within our tiers to see who is the strongest.

After the tournament, we will be divided into teams and go on an expedition into the Great Western Forest to cull beasts and harvest rare plants. Throughout all of this, though, my focus is on getting stronger; to be ready for the calamity I was warned about by Darkness, the deity that brought me here. I just hope I have enough time.

Cant wait for the third

I read the first 3 of these books on kindle first, but I much prefer audible since I don’t actually have much time to sit and read. I love the story. A nice take on Isekai/cultivation/academy fantasy.

Narration was nicely executed. It’s not my favorite style of narration, but I think that is just personal preference. It was very well done.

Looking forward to the third and fourth books of the series releasing on audible. I’ll be reading the 4th on kindle first if I can find the time.

Another great entry.

This one of my favorite series. It is a great story with well thought out plot and developed characters. I am not as impressed with the narrator's range as some others, but he still does a good job. I definitely recommend this book (the whole series) for everyone.

Much better.

This one was much better than the first. story was well paced. side characters still need a little more depth. also mc is supposed to have been 22 or 23 but that doesn't come across at all. also writer needs to decide by next book if this is a harem series or not. either way is fine but when you bounce around and take to long to decide it becomes teen drama boring. I plan on listening to the next one.

Fun Portal LitRPG, narrator overdoes it a bit

I enjoyed this continuation of the series content-wise, but since I read the first one sans narration, I was surprised that the narrator sounded like he was... trying too hard? You know when you were little and an adult read a book to you with overemphasized words and overly exaggerated emotions? Well, it wasn’t nearly that bad, but it was enough to distract me from the story occasionally, which is why my rating took a hit.

Narrator

Narrator was annoying and made main character seem like a child instead of a 20 Year old in a 15 year olds body

The cliffhanger is trolling

I though the book cut off in a place that was borderline rude. If I didnt enjoy it or happen to have a credit, I wouldn't get the next In the series out of pure spite.

Good Book

Once again another excellent cultivation Novel. It’s nice to read a cultivation novel will be academy or Sect is not out to try to beat you down. Though I think the cliffhanger ending was a bit much.

Cliff hangers are for unintelligent soap operas not real stories. you want repeat listeners make good endings.

fairly generic story, ends with a cliff hanger. you can partisan a story without ending with a dramatic moment, I toss stories that use these gimmicks because it reflects on a lack of direction. Look at books like Harry Potter to show how success is higher without cutting stories in the middle. this is not supposed to be a soap opera.
