Great book for older readers but...

I found the story, characters and developing relationships very compelling. There were some genuinely nail-biting close calls as the kids made it on the lamb and some characterisation that would be just at home in a good adult thriller.

However, the length is very annoying. I'm guessing this was aimed at much younger audiences hence each book in the series only being the equivalent of three hours long.

When I'm used to books at least seven hours long I believe much more could have been put into each book, readily condensing the series from six books to three.

This means that while I enjoyed the book and want to read more I will pay twice what I normally pay per series for the rest of "On The Run". Since I read on a budget, this will have to wait a while.

I bought this for a road trip with my kids. It turned out that my 13 year old son had already read the book, but my 11 year old daughter really loved the book and was disappointed when it was over.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Meg was my favorite character. she seemed very strong.

What about Ben Rameaka’s performance did you like?

I liked the way he portrayed Meg.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When they decided to run.

Good

An original story that is fast paced and enjoyable. More believable than most action paced novels aimed at teens

Nostalgia Gives It 5/5

The performer works with what he's been given, could hardly blame him for the simple writing.
