Publisher's summary

There are 3 simple questions to determine whether you should listen this book.

Does the thought of "small talk" make you cringe? Do you wish you were more magnetic and charismatic? Do you want to learn how to instantly turn surface interactions into lasting and deep connections?

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, you need this book immediately!

We’ve all heard that life is about who you know… but that’s only half the picture.

Chatter will show you step by step how to become the person who can build intimate rapport with anyone they meet, expertly work a room, win instant friends, and project a winning image that people will flock to.

This isn’t a book of one-liner conversation topics and generic "you can do it" tips that other books would have you believe will make you successful. Through my 20 Chatter principles, you will learn to master skills that will make you shine in everyday interactions, such as:

  • How to bulletproof your verbal/non-verbal first impression and first 30 seconds of any interaction
  • How to handle conversation lulls and silences – and prevent them in the first place
  • 3 easy ways to be proclaimed as perceptive as a mind reader
  • The best icebreakers for any situation (hint: use your surroundings!)
  • Speaking comfortably on topics that you have little to zero knowledge on
  • 4 ways to make people open up to you on an intimate level.
  • How to handle uncomfortable or hostile topics
  • The best way to gracefully exit a conversation

… as well as advanced communication skills and techniques that will change your life:

  • The building blocks of charisma and how you can embody them
  • How to implement emotional intelligence in your daily life.

quick and good points

Filled with examples of what not to do followed by examples of what works better and why, for keeping that conversation going strong!

Short and to the point

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Good tips in this listen. Nothing but solid self-help here, but worth a quick listen.

Important medicine

I didn't particularly enjoy this topic or the book it was important for me to read it and get the information. It's a short book with valuable insights.

Interesting

The information wasn't necessarily new or earth shattering but it was nice to hear it all organized and concise. For the price and the time invested it was worth listening to.

Very Helpful!

loved it. knowing all this will certainly help me with my social life. i will be able to better connect with people when i am first introduced. i will be able to give a great first impression rather than no impression at all and be labeled as just "nice". i will have better connections with the people i meet and give off a positive vibe which will leave the people i meet wanting more. thank you!

Insightful

I think this book contains a lot of good ideas and touched on a lot of issues I have with my own difficulties on starting and holding conversations. I listened to this straight through the first time and will listen to it several more times to help me remember the suggestions when I encounter those stressful moments. I liked the author's voice very much.

Worth a read

Overall useful but his hip, dating bias colors the recommendations. I would have found it more useful if the examples had a bit more refinement (especially content about inappropriate conversation).

That said, there are many good nuggets to consider.

best book I have on this subject

it is very practical. some of the authors seem to presume that the men one encounters are VASTLY more mature than the typical 21st century man and give advice that would only backfire against a male user under typical circumstances. this author rises above that level and gives advice that should be somewhat more likely to work with real people.

best

cant find anyone better. Every word is good, no fluff. i've had this for over 6 months, come back and listen to it every couple of weeks. always get something new out of it each time. Only thing I've ever had a problem with ever was one had a bad narrator. This one has a excellent one, probably the best in any book.
