About this listen

Success is more treacherous than failure, bringing dangerous attention, and potentially unbeatable foes.

Kat beat the bad guys and scored a pile of credits deep enough for her to fill a kiddy pool and go swimming in it. What she didn’t expect was for the mastermind of her plight to survive, as well as do her a favor: She removed her from the Arcology, and enrolled her in the GroCorp corporate college. She knows the Arcology, but this is a chance to earn enough credits to set her family up for life.

But people are disappearing, and betrayal lurks around every corner. Kat is out of her depth, and everyone is playing for keeps. Only by relying on every erg of power she’s managed to scavenge from the Tower of Somnus does Kat even begin to stand a chance.

What if the power she earns comes at a price that isn’t hers to pay?

Great writing and voice acting

I love the story, it’s have litRPG half action thriller. Corporations rule the world and the elites managers on up. Most people are in debt to the companies from birth and can never make enough money to pay it back.

Wow

I have enjoyed this audiobook and I am hopeful there will be a book 3 to this series. I a way I can see the reality of this planet be sold out by a few bad men and women. Because, such this happen in many countries today. Make no mistake, even America is at risk for more power and money if we do not paid attention.

Excellent

I normally expect a second book to be lackluster as it bridges book one and book three. This book is not like that. It may start just a little slow, but that slowness has a purpose in the character building and it resolves soon enough. Again, I love that this series has a great storyline out of game. The in game material is very cool, but the "real world" plot is great. High stakes and intense. I love it.

A good second book

I was worried the second book would fall into the common jinx of being bad. But for the most part I think this book avoided that calamity. Feels most like book 1 and 2 write together than two separate endeavors. Was enjoyable and left me wanted the next book.

I want more

I like it and it has me wanting more. the story is great, the dystopian world mixed with the game world makes for a talk of overcoming tyranny.
my only complaint is the use of they/them pronouns for the alien. I don't care about catering to the wokists, but it just makes it sound plural when referring to an individual.

another great performance from Andrea Parsneau.

Now that's the way to end a good book that leaves you wanting more without a cliffhanger.

Super good

This book was so good, I really enjoyed it. It was good from start to finish, Cale plamann has some good series I like, but this tower of somnus might take the cake. Cale really did fantastic with this book, it surely shows how good his writing skills are.

I listened to the audio version so we're gonna be talking about the narration.

Andrea did super good with the narration, she seriously is one of my favorite female/male narrators of all time. I love her voice so much, she has so many voices at her disposal. Andrea performs so well, she probably is the only narrator I know that will redo a chapter over and over again until it's perfect, the dedication she has is mind-blowing. I feel she is the perfect fit for this book by a long shot. This narration is for sure a 5 star.

The characters just got better! I already thought they were good, but now I really like them. They got way more depth in this book, I felt a real connection with them. I also love the character bonding this book seems to have. Cale really brought home the bag when it comes to these characters. The Mc is even better, I do think in some situations she's kinda overdoing it, but besides that I love her. She is one of my favorite female mcs.

The plot is good, it had me intrigued and interested throughout the white book, I was so intrigued when reading this book, the cliffhanger has me wanting so much more! This plot doesn't seem overdone or rushed or anything like that. I'm so amazed on how good this story was, I can't wait to see how it plays out!!!

This book was so good, I'm certainly going to be here for book 3, I recommend this book to the fullest.
