About this listen

Don't let him under your skin. He'll destroy you.

Don't fight him. He'll win.

Run. Never let him find you.

I thought I was safe here, but I'm not. I've stayed too long. Now Genevieve is dead and the police are on their way. It's time for me to go.

I must stick to the plan - the one I made the day I arrived in this city. My bag is packed. It always is. I will destroy every shred of evidence of my existence. The police must never find me. If they do, so will he.

I made a mistake and someone had to die. But I'm the one who has truly lost her life.

I need to make a choice. If I keep running, I'll never stop. If I go back, he will make me suffer.

How many lives can one person ruin?

A Tom Douglas thriller.

Great... as usual.

Great character development and storyline. Just what I’ve come to expect from Ms. Abbott. I haven’t read a bad book from her. What I really appreciate about this series, is each one is a complete story that you can understand. They are self contained books in themselves and part of a series too.
Really enjoyed it after a depressing dry spell of duds.

Absolutely fascinating!

Such a good story, and the characters drawn into a cult were compelling. Lisa Coleman also does a marvellous job narrating. I’m now going to have to read all of Rachel Abbott’s books!

Oh, Rachel, your brilliance shines through

My second listen!

Author Rachel Abbott and narrator Lisa Coleman are a perfect creative duo. I do have to say this is one of her best. Abbott brings back DCI Tom Douglas and his partner Becky. Delving into a subject that, unfortunately, does happen in today’s society, Abbott creates every character with precision. Intricate twists and turns, eccentric and devious characters and surprises throughout and a then, BAM! POW! an ending I never saw coming and kept me thinking. Just last night, I watched “Dateline” on this very same subject and coincidently, a young girl’s name was also India. “Close Your Eyes” is well worth a credit or purchase. Again, thank you to Abbott and Coleman for another suspenseful and “complexellent” thriller. Highly recommended. Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!

Worth the credit!

Great characters. Good plot/s. Nice to have 2 storylines without being too complicated. Great insight into cults except I couldn’t stand the mother!

Sooooo... Good!

Wow! Oh what a web we weave!
This story is precisely that!
One minute Martha is working at her daily job then the next she is on the run. Her past would be exposed and with DL Douglas on the case the chase was on. You won’t be able to stop listening!

Disappointed

Great details, with intriguing beginning, but It is very predictable how the story would end.
