About this listen

This second Colony Mars omnibus contains Books 4, 5, and 6.

Jezero City (Colony Four Mars): When a colonist dies in tragic circumstances, just a few sols before a major terraforming experiment, Dr. Jann Malbec begins to suspect that all is not what it seems.

Surface Tension (Colony Five Mars): In the midst of the most devastating dust storm in the history of Mars, the survival of the half million people who call it home hangs in the balance.

Plains of Utopia (Colony Six Mars): When an Earth-bound ship explodes on the launchpad in Jezero City, and the DNA from two bodies recovered at the site are found to be an exact match, Dr. Jann Malbec is convinced that they are the product of a covert cloning program.

About Colony Mars:
This is a sci-fi series set in a human colony on Mars. The science depicted is, for the most part, plausible. In other words, what’s technically possible with either current technology or taking experimental research a step or two further. That said, you won’t need a calculator or a slide-rule to enjoy the story.

Worth every minute

I absolutely love this series. I loved how the author was able to introduce new characters easily and how attached I was with them. Characters are well developed. Highly recommend this series and all books 1-6.

A very good story

I love stories about Mars, and this was a very good story which kept me very entertained for drives for a few weeks. I ended up getting another trillogy by this author which I also enjoyed a lot and am not looking for my next listen. If you’re a fan of mars stories this and it’s predecessor are must reads.

wonderful conclusion to the story.

Loved it. The writing and voice performance was a fun listen. All six books wrapped up nicely with very little improbability.

Loved

The next box set in the series did not disappoint. Spoiler but only if you have not listened to the first three books. They need to treat AI's better.

Where is the editor?!

Such odd pronunciation of certain words. The narrator ms. Zanzarella is generally very good. So when a focus of the story is an ANTENNA array, she calls it an “antenny” over and over. Singular! Now, I know an acceptable pronunciation of the plural might be close to this, but antenny for the angular is like “ol’ timey music.” Likewise “schematic”. The e should be a short I or e, but she says scheematic, a long e. Distracting.

Good

It was not as good as the first books but it was still ok. Gizmo who will be protected over our hero’s body is left in a museum and forgot about by her. That was one of the duh huh moments.
