About this listen

Next to the death of a loved one, the ending of a relationship is the most painful experience most people will ever go through. Coming Apart is a first aid kit for getting through the ending. It is a tool that will enable you to live through the end of your relationship with your self-esteem intact.

Originally published in 1987 and continuously in print since then, Coming Apart has been an important resource for hundreds of thousands of people experiencing the pain and stress of a breakup. This new edition features a foreword by Katherine Woodward Thomas, author of Conscious Uncoupling.

Daphne Rose Kingma, the undisputed expert on matters of the heart, explores the critical facets of relationship breakdowns:

  • Love myths: why we are really in relationships
  • The life span of love
  • How to get through the ending
  • How to create a personal workbook for finding resolution

Time does a lot to heal our broken hearts, but really understanding what transpired in each of our relationships is what allows us to finally let go and move on.

Good book

I really enjoyed this book. Even found one story that is 100% same like I had in the past. Many new things to learn and reconsider.

A must read

Absolutely in love with the way Daphne structured the book. Gave me so much insight into my past relationships! Loved that she was so practical and provided the exact questions we should ask ourselves and our partners when coming apart or trying to fix a rupture.

Excellent read for any "uncoupling"

71 chapters seemed long, but they are only minutes long. I have many bookmarks to go back and read or partake in activity.

Makes me fairly happy not to have married!

This book was very helpful in Daphne's expression of the understanding and open truth awareness needed in almost any relationship. I am anxious to read her other books now!

Helpful for anyone who has ever ended a relationship which is all of us!

A bit repetitive but still helpful to get your head and heart around the decision of ending relationships that are no longer healthy or happy.

WOW!

As I'm going through a terminal illness, dealing with a 25 year marriage coming to an end due to my husband choosing a 34 year old woman over his 44 year old wife (me). And he will be 50 in a month.....this is so EYE OPENING AND INSPIRING! MUST MUST READ if your struggling with the loss of a spouse or partner and just not ready to let go.
