"An action packed tale of love, betrayal and retribution." (J.L. Bourne)

Even in death, life rarely goes as planned.

Having nothing left to live for, Malcom is given a shot at redemption when a woman named Tessa needs his help. With death looming, Malcom, Tessa, and her children flee Cincinnati with their sights set on El Paso. They know the trip won't be easy, but nothing could prepare them for the nightmares ahead.

The best laid plans...

Our protagonist Malcom has suffered enough guilt and pain. He leaves his empty home one last time seeking revenge for the loss of his wife and children to the infected. Elsewhere, mother and successful surgeon Tessa along with her children, pack their bags to leave the city of Cincinnati and avoid the infected. Paths cross, and we follow the survivors as they struggle cross-country to reach rumored safety in El Paso. Good story, great characters. Convergence

I always love visiting our friends in this series! Malcom ends up with a pre made family to care for while he struggles with losing his own as well as fighting the afflicted. Andrew B Wehrlen was ,again a fine narrator.

definitely worse the credit to listen to

it was a good story and I enjoyed listening to it. the only thing is that already have listened to the others in the series, it is kind of a spoiler knowing that the people trying to make it to El Paso will be disappointed when they arrive. also, being met by the female sergeant who was killed in the last book is kind of a downer.

Still truckin'

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

This has to be the best in the series so far! Such a great redemption story for Malcom and really had all the feels from the early Walking Dead series. What I love most about this series is how it focuses more on the people and not just the action. Anyway, the narration continues to be great and I can't wait for more in this series.

Story of Redemption during the Zombie Apocalypse

This story is set in the Five Roads to Texas Universe. In this world, a ZomPoc Virus has been released and is wiping out the world. This is Malcolm's story. His family took a trip to California for a long weekend before the virus got bad to visit his wife's side of the family and never returned. This was to give him a break from everyone and give him some alone time.
Suffering from guilt and grief he plans to end his life after several weeks into the apocalypse. He wants to tour the families favorite places in their home town of Cincinnati while avoiding the infected. He crosses paths with Tessa a surgeon trying to get out of town with her two children. He decides to live and help the escape town before it is bombed by the remnants of the federal government the following day.
The story is really enjoyable and holds the listener's attention. The action is fast past paced and keeps the story moving. In this universe, this is not the happy shiny world where everything is sunshine and rainbows. The stories are darker and the good guys do not always win. This makes for some really great listening. This is really a fun universe to explore as a listener.
The narration is provided by Andrew B. Wehrlen. Mr. Wehrlen brings a strong skilled vocal quality to each audio production. His narration of Malcolm in this story really gets the listener invested in his journey in this new horrific world. The production quality of this audiobook is also the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing. The production was crisp and clear. AJ Powers delivered an excellent audiobook production. I highly recommend this audiobook and series. Compelling story

This installment reminds me of the early Walking Dead years. People struggle, survive and die, but the story goes on. Great series with great narration!

Book 4 in a great zombie series

I really enjoyed book 4. This added to the series and then tied into other characters. I loved that this story line started in my area and spoke about many cities and landmarks that I know. Narration was great! Story was great! I received this for free for an honest review.

Fantastic

Was very impressed with the whole story line. The characters rang true and even with the circumstances had a very human feel to them. Andrew Wehrien did a great job of bringing the characters and world to life. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite narrators. I received a free copy of this audio in return for an unbiased review.
