About this listen

Torin has seen off several threats against him and his burgeoning faction the Shattered Storm.

However, time is ticking down on the primary quest from his patron, the Shattered Goddess. He promised to utterly destroy Luca Gattosi before a year had passed. Months have gone by and he is no closer to taking his rival down. In fact, the opposite is true. Luca has only grown stronger. The window of opportunity to act is getting smaller with every day.

But things are not so simple that Torin can switch his focus whenever he wishes.

He remains embroiled in a war in the northern peninsula against the Hooved Horde. A group of ravenous flesh-eating beastmen. Not to mention, the threat which lurks beneath the placid waters of the Great Lakes. The twisted Hector and his abominable spawn.

If that wasn't enough to contend with, there is also the human politics. Governor William Reed of Wisconsin who has allied himself with the same sea-god that transformed Hector into a horrific champion of pain and suffering. He is out for blood against his hated rival Governor Richard Reynolds of Michigan. Torin's somewhat unreliable ally.

Stormblade Harbour, the home of Torin and his growing stable of friends and lovers, stands between the two of them which makes it a target.

But this is the Darkwyrlds, life is not supposed to be easy. It's supposed to be hard and only those willing to risk everything get the chance to win it all.

If I'd have been reading this in paperback I probably would have thrown it across the room after the first or second chapters.
I've been so excited to read book three that I was seriously disappointed that the first part of the book is basically about the economics of the slave system in the game system.
But then everything was good when it got back to the story.
If you liked the first two books you're going to like this one.
I'm looking forward to book 4 now.
I'm giving this book 8 out of 5 stars.

Awesome series ❣️

Okay, so minor spoiler. Roughly in the first 5 chapters of this book the psychic deer returns warning Torin that he hasn't focus on the threats he should, but most of the "threats" the deer mentions literally took care of themselves. After reading a comment made by the author saying he will stop this series at 5 books, I am deeply concerned he doesn't care and can't focus. This will be the second series he will leave unfinished to start another series which will get the same treatment.

Maybe the deer predicted the book?

👏👏👏👏👏I hope there are more books to come in this series! The MC is great along with a really good supporting cast! The story is captivating! The narrators also do a good job of bringing the story to life! Great job Devan Drake!

Enjoying the series, keep it up. Hard to find good 18+ books where plot still exists and its not one massive orgy. Keep up the good plot, but I wouldn't mind a few more sex scenes as long as it doesn't jeopardize the plot.

Good 18+ book with a real Plot

Love the series. It's unique and fun with Great characters and good pacing. The male characters are all well done. The female performer is not good. Her new female love interests all start off sounding like Patty from the Simpsons, then somehow magically change as the books go one. She has very limited range, and is a bad audio actor. 0/5 on her. She almost ruins the books

Great Story. Great Male Peeformance. Bad Female performance.

First off, really appreciate that the explict parts are clearly seperated from the rest of the story so you can decide if you want that kind of book or not. Without them its basically just a fade to black and pick up the next morning.

Narration was above average, I felt like all the voices fit and all the accent (which were well done) really differentiated the characters.

Classes and system were pretty standard litrpg fare (thats a good thing imo).

Just an enjoyable book and series overall, going to have to switch to print to read further though.

Good Story, Great Caracters, Awesome Fights

this series keeps on getting better. the mc and supporting class are well written and fun to follow. heck even the numerous antagonist are fun to follow. the multiple pov's are easy to follow and flow well into the story. the narration is great also. can't wait for more.

This is a really well done example of litrpg at its best and the good guys aren’t all that good

Wonderful book

Male narrator is good, and the female narrator does a poor job differentiating between female characters and expressing what the character is supposed to be expressing.

There is also too much switching between character viewpoints. It felt like more than half of the book was side character viewpoints.

Books 1-3 so far are mediocre at best. Most of the dialogue is informational and the dialogue that isn’t conversational isn’t very well written.

I do appreciate that the MC isn’t overpowered and that a lot of thought that went into the story arc.

The story arc isn’t bad, the execution is
