Publisher's summary

Six years has passed since the catastrophic blizzard descended on idyllic Askergan County, and most residents have spent this time convincing themselves that the evil that blew in with the storm never existed. But it does exist...and it's not done with Askergan just yet.

It was the annual father and son fishing trip, a time to enjoy the simpler things in life, to ditch cell phones and Internet and to learn how to gut and cook fish. A time to tell campfire stories and to roast marshmallows.

But for Kent Griddle and his teenage friends Tyler, Baird, and Sergio, it's also a time to sneak a few drinks and smoke a few cigarettes.

A time to wander in the woods; to explore.

Which would be fine in most towns. But Askergan is not like most towns. Askergan has secrets. And as Kent and his misfit band of friends are about to find out, that there are certain places in Askergan that should be left alone. Because for six years Askergan's secrets have lain dormant, brooding, waiting to be awakened....

Crackers is the second book in the gritty horror-thriller Insatiable Series. If you like coming of age stories in which realistic, flawed characters are thrust into unspeakable situations with life-threatening outcomes, then you will enjoy Logan's exploration of how every decision we make - and even the ones we don't - comes with a price.

Couldn't stop listening

I started the Insatiable series on a long car trip. Finished the first book in 2 days. I immediately started in on the second book, but when I couldn't complete my household duties with my face glued to my screen I downloaded the audiobook. Finished within 24 hours! I love the suspense, character depth and how everything connects so well. Just downloaded the remainder of the series and I can't wait to start reading. I love book to movie adaptations and, oh wow, this would be great on screen.

excellent!!!!

Love the story line. Well written and spooky as he'll. The narrators voice coupled with the excellent writing made for a very chilling story. I listen to audio books books at night when trying to go to sleep and this one effectively gave me chills. I can't wait to listen to Flesh.

Thrilling from the beginning

I thought the first in the series, Skins, was intriguing. Crackers did not disappoint! Logan took scary to the next level! The narration by Pauley enhanced the terror and kept me riveted.

Getting more weird

So, the first book was pretty good and this one suggests that things are going to be taking a turn. I think this was a neat thing Patrick Logan did and I am hoping that Volume 3 will not be disappointing answer to the climax built up in this one. I definitely discourage reaching these out of order...the background in Volume 1 helps bring things together in a way that makes sense. It will clarify why this disaster had not visited man-kind sooner.

creepy creature feature

just what I look for when I'm in the mood for a scary story. Well read with just a bit of back ground noise for effect.

Fun and Free!

This is a short story, a sort of interlude, of book 1 titled Skin. It’s a tad slow in the beginning, but only for the buildup for book 2.

Once the stupid kids get “stupider” through the bullying of Tyler - a so-called friend and troubled teen- they find themselves in a life or death situation, where death gruesomely prevails.

On to book 3!
Cheers

This one was creepy and moved fast!

Like the first book...the creep factor of this one was intense! I loved it! The name is a little deceiving and while yes...the basement part was icky....that wasn't what I felt was the main issue. I enjoyed this though and wasn't as grossed out...which I also enjoyed! Go Patrick....another great one under your belt!
