About this listen

Phoebe West has been head-over-heels in love with her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember. Not that he's bothered to notice. Despite several mortifying attempts at seduction and a decade's worth of unrequited pining, nothing Phoebe does seems to make any impact on the man she's obsessed over since her bra-stuffing days. She knows that it's time to let him go, though just the thought is nearly enough to shatter her.

Nathaniel "Nate" Knox has only ever seen Phoebe as one thing: forbidden. There's a darkness in Nate, the kind you can't avoid after years working in Special Forces and private security. He's no good for anyone, especially not someone as sweet as his best friend's little sister. He knows that he can't have her, even if she makes him feel things he barely recognizes.

Contains mature themes.

1 million words per second!!! Too much to stand...

The unrequited love... Years loving her brothers best friend...
She is a little bit too much verbose for my liking. I got tired.
It takes too long to get to speed but from the middle on, some action kicks in and it gets better...

Very captivating! I couldn’t stop listening to this one! It wasn’t predictable like other books I’ve read! I’d recommend it to anyone!

Fun and Sexy with just enough action and suspense

Cross the Line is a great blend of RomCom and action. Fun and sexy with enough suspense to keep it entertaining. Nate is off limits as Phoebe' brother's best friend. When Phoebe lands in a mess of trouble and danger, Nate is there to protect and keep her safe.

"I spent a long time trying to convince myself you were better off without me. That keeping away from you was the best way to keep you safe. But I can’t do it anymore. I won’t. See, you and I mated for life about a million years ago, little bird. Without you, there’s no music. No love. No life."

Awesome narration by Tatiana Sokolov just enhanced an already amazing book!!

Not as good as the first book

I couldn’t really get into this book. It may have been the narration, I’m not sure. The story was ok at best. This narrator has a terrible impersonation of a male voice.

Outlandish and cheesy

This story was almost as outlandish as the first book in the series and I scoffed and rolled my eyes at multiple plot points and cheesy one-liners. For how much of these books are focused around sex and romance, the steamy scenes leave much to be desired. Great narrator though, and entertaining enough as a mindless palette cleanser.

Not my favorite...

Ok, here's the thing... I felt that the performance made Phoebe sound like a 16 year old rather than a 24 year old. Some of the written language didn't help either. Words like "holy frack" and the pet name of "little bird" and other references REALLY made Phoebe sound like a whack job. Reading a sample of the book, I had a different tone in my head, so this performance didn't live up to it for me. She could have sounded more sultry and playful over whiny and pathetic. Frankly, I'm not sure how any man could tolerate that tone and voice. It just could have been better. 😥

Mobsters don’t go away that easily

I liked this book and how it connected to the previous one but we all know that real life does not happen this way. Although The main characters was corky she was also naïve to all that goes on around her but I guess that’s what made her the character she portrayed.

Just ok

Cute and easy listen, not fantastic, not awful, just OK. Quite a few plot inconsistencies. Almost to descriptive at times.
