About this listen

Malia Livingston is a rogue wolf, but she prefers the term lone wolf as it sounds more mysterious and sexier. Those terms embody everything she is today, a tough-as-nails independent she-wolf who doesn’t need anyone to make her feel complete.

Malia grew up like every other pack werewolf, listening to the stories that weave tales about crazy lonely rogues, protective packs, and mates that save the day. Unfortunately for her, all of those stories turned out to be just fairytales. Real life is nothing like it, and she knows firsthand that mates can be terrible for your health. Based on her shitty life experiences, Malia considers the moon goddess herself as just another one of those fairytales.

At the age of 29-year-old, Malia takes her very first vacation to the city her parents named her after. Of course, there are sun, sea, and fantastic dance clubs, but unfortunately, it also contains a second chance mate.

Andrew is the Alpha of the Blue moon pack, and he has been waiting his whole life to meet his fated mate. At 30, he has watched all of his family and friends find love and start their families years ago. He would do anything to find his happily ever after, so when by freak coincidence he picks up on the scent of his mate on the Greek island of Crete, he will follow it anywhere until he can find her.

Follow the journey of Malia and Andrew across Europe as one tries to escape fate and the other tries to grab on to it. Who will you root for?

Such a great book!

I really enjoyed the storyline - so unique, emotional and super adventurous! The narrator brought the characters to life so perfectly that the author needs to make this into a series and have her narrate them all! Seriously, I need more of these characters!

I love a book with a HEA

This is a well-written book with a well-defined plot. Julia Dent showed her prowess as a writer by writing a book from multiple points of view. Not just that of the male and female lead but other minor characters, resulting in a unique perspective that other authors don’t touch on. The narrator did an excellent job distinguishing her voice between the characters, making the book easy to follow. It is a slow-burn romance, so slow that I was concerned the book might leave off at a cliffhanger. Thankfully, Julia pulled off a happily ever after without rushing the ending. However, I have to include a trigger warning in my review. Although I found the book well written, there was one flashback scene that was truly disturbing regarding a domestic/sexual violence situation that almost made me step away without finishing the book. However, I’m glad I pressed on to the conclusion and the HEA. I will be on the lookout for more books from this author.
